We have been on the wrong end of enough tight games at our place. No lack of motivation. Youth and enthusiasm to triumph over the age and experience, and for the Wolf senior heads to feel every one of their 30 plus years by the end.

Your right, its no Wembley, but Wigan Athletics ground brings out the best in us for some reason

Possible reasons:
- it's good being in civilised company;
- being so close to greatness takes away the pain of going 50 odd years and counting since you were last champions;
- trying your very very hardest to win, and achieving it gives the illusion of grandeur, even though it remains just another game for us;
- you love seeing so many people in one place to watch a league game. Scraping 10k for the first home match in what might be an eagerly anticipated season must cause nightmares at the thought of all those empty seats once this relative (see above) "golden era" comes to an end; and
- knowing that there's reduced prices for concessions reassures you that Morley, Briers, Hodgson and Monaghan (aka your good players) will be able to afford to come and watch away games in the years to come as your slow inexorable slide back to where you came (60 years plus) gathers momentum.

P.S don't try too hard to be bitter, lighten up, its a bit of fun. We all know the two points count for nothing and its the bragging rights that count at this stage of the season. I for one am a little disappointed that the game is a Bit early in the season. Enjoy the game!

Complacency and possibly fatigue set in a bit on Sunday I felt. I've paid over £500 on Season Tickets and hope all home games re not like that. After the first 20 or so minutes I thought we would put at least 40 points on them. We all know that both teams can defend so I believe whoever gets the better start will go on to win on Friday.

Low scoring game with our defence (hopefully) canceling out the good attack from Wire.

My heart says Wigan, but my head says wolfs.

We couldn't beat them last season with a stronger team.

Their pack might muller us unfortunately.

Can't see anything but a Wire win. Without Hansen (and Hock) I think it is asking too much of an inexperienced pack to give our backs a platform.

Everything would have to go right for us to win. No daft penalties (which Wane was concerned about last time out) and every half chance taken etc.

I'd like to hope if Wire do win it won't be by a large score and I come away being able to blame the ref for a crucial and undoubtedly incorrect decision.

The first 20 mins will be key to what sort of result we see I think.
