Anyone know when this will be announced (I assume some time today)?

On the RFL website it shows the panel for tomorrow are:

R Grant (chairman)
G Hallas
N McAvoy

Anyone know who R Grant is and if he is likely to be pro or anti Wigan?

He's a Wigan fan if he's the same person I'm thinking of. Used to be a touch judge donkeys years ago. Last spoke to him on a plane to Catalan a couple of years back, didn't know he worked for the RFL these days until then.

So I'd say he'll be at least impartial.

live at the match i thought the sending off was harsh,but having watched a reply the ref got it right.mm has been playing like a thug for a while now and this could well bite us in the bum in the play offs.

It is a worry. Up to about the semi final he was in great form and was a much more disciplined hooker and was showing a much better all round game. I dont know if its because the forwards arent laying the foundation and he feels he has to but he needs to cut out that side of his game again and concentrate on the Rugby.

1 match ban £300 fine I say. They are normally leniant where play off/cup games are involved. Also potentially if it is a 2 match ban he potentially won't be back until the GF.

Looks like a 3 game ban then if true as he is likely to get the worst given his previous this season. Personally I think a 3 game ban would be very harsh, esentially it was a high tackle as it certainly wasn't late when watched at full speed. I also don't believe there was enough of an impact to cause the reaction from Laffranchi given that the arm did come up off the shoulder and seemed more of a grab than a stiff arm. A stupid tackle yes (especially on an average aussie that offers little, if you're going to do it to rattle the opposition do it to a playmaker or hooker that would have an effect on the other team) Definitely worthy of a red but its the consistency that is frustrating as worse things have happened this year that have gone unpunished. Perry on Lima for example)

Grade C offence is 2-3 games. I now think he'll get 3 considering it's his 3rd red card of the season.

Waney and Rads will tell em he is such a sweet misunderstood boy and it would be very wrong if he missed the Grand Final. Nathan McAvoy and Graham Hallas will be in tears and let him off with sending off sufficient.

To be honest that's all I can remember but a few people had said it so I was happy to go along with it because my memory is cack.

One red this season IIRC, he then wasted his one and only ban appeal for the season. His one game ban was reduced to a fine only, only then for him to sit out the next game due to injury

I think he'll get 2 with him basically having already served 1 game but who knows. His season could be on the line here which is a shame considering how well he's played.

If he gets 3 games the lad could be forgiven for wearing a striped shirt and a beret on Friday night!

Interesting that he has been charged with a grade C offence yet there is no mention of Michael platt who apparantley did a carbon copy tackle on Saturday, consistency is all I expect but then this is the RFL

Offences shown on TV get a harsher punishment than ones that arent on TV. Its plain to see.

Just hope that first team and U20's win next week. That'll knock a game off his ban.

I think he'll get a 3 game ban which would be harsh imo.

I'm less pessimistic about him being banned than I would've been a few weeks ago now Tommy is back, with Smith to slot into the halves. Would still be very unfortunate if his season was over because of this incident.
