| Take a look at the link below.
NEVER thought i'd see the day when the 'lodgers' (us) are finally recognised as the only ones capable of filling the JJB.
Even suggestions of sharing with Saints at their new ground.
Oh, the irony of it all.
DW must be packing all his toys away as we speak!!
So, could we maintain the place as an RL-only stadium?
Discuss....

Will never happen, why are they even discussing moving to Saints new Stadium??
When they get relegated maybe we could let them use Orrell (as long as we're not using it).

| Absolutely hilarious! I'm been saying for years a large bulk of Latics support comes from St Helens, Skem and other scouse overspill areas. The fact that they are agreeing moving to Saints new ground just backs me up.
''We could go to Saints' new stadium next season - 18'000 but obviously there's standing area's''
''st helens wouldnt bother me ,always said be better for us to move to warrington or st helens boundarys''
''15,000 stdium would be far better than 25,000
let the rugby have this one after all they are on the up again and will start to fill it ''
''Leigh Sports Village for Cup Games - Genesis have moved out and Rugby don't play on Tuesday or Wesnesday. 10'000 Capacity.''
You couldn't make it up.

| Think they have realised what most have known that Latics will go down this season. DW whatever we may think of him has not only got the to the premier league but kept them up. But football is no longer a millionaires owner game. Its a Billionaire's game now in the top division and the cost of keeping a side like the latics in the premier league is enormous. They cant survuve paying 40-50k a week to players on 15k attendances even with the TV money they need to sell.
Moan as they do but DW has to sell he is not going to get himself onto debt in the hope of keeping them up anymore. Hes not stupid hes a businessman. What is more annoying for them is that we have just finished top of SL and have a positive looking future. Its ironic given we almost went down when they looked to have a great future. As much as i'd love to see them go down it does Wigan no good as a town.
But i would love to be sitting next to DW when they did. maybe view it as payback for what he did to the side when we had to go to Widnes. HOLD ON.
After next season Widnes might take them as a tenant as if the go down they ownt get 10k. Even the new Saints stadium will be too big.

2011 - Latics go down
2012 - Mid table and average attendance in Championship 1 - 8,000
2013 - Mid table and average attendance in Championship 1 - 7,200
2014 - Latics go down to Division 1 -Average attendance - 6,500

From the very first Fans Forum at the Deanery, Ian Lenagan envisaged 20k averages within 5-6 years, at the time I thought that was optimistic to say the least...!!
For increased attendances, we needed success and for our Marketing Department to reach out throughout the town and beyond.
We already know we have the best Marketing Dept in the league (even better than the RFL itself) and now we are finding ourselves on the brink "hopefully" of a new era, so why not - I think 20k is very achievable:
Wigan RL
2010 - Average - 15,650
2011 - Average - 17,200
2012 - Average - 18,750
2013 - Average - 20,000

| Not exactly a rumour is it, its just a few folk on CL chatting about it.
Obviously if they get relegated their crowds would dip further, how much remains to be seen.

Just looks like a few [i'bandwagoners'/'I've followed Latics all my life, honest I have!'[/is' having a panic attack to be honest.
Does make me chuckle though, as the accusation often thrown at [ius[/i is that the vast majority of our supporters come from outside the town (ie Bolton, Chorley). Oh the irony.

That is something only Mr Lenaghan and the people incharge of the club's finances could know. As far as I can see the position of tenant is for us for the time being, but I'd imagine it hampers us in terms of making money.

| Even if the'tics get relegated they still have to play in an all seater stadium as far as I know when in the Championship.
Champ 1 and they can have standing areas.
Best for them is if they move to Widnes when Saints move out, that's an all seater and they would probably get a fair few watching them being not too far from Liverpool.

We rely on away fans to crack the 20k barrier. If every home seat was sold i think that would come to 19,500. Less than 500 away fans means we wouldn'tt 20k even if we sold every home seat!
Crusaders, Quins, Hudds out. Widnes, Halifax, Barrow, Leigh in.
That would increase our average significently.

I think those figures a very optimistic. In a town the size of Wigan I can't see us getting an average of 20,000 throught the gates. One thing I thin k we should eb looking at is welcoming anyone who shows an interest and encouraging any disgruntled Latics 'fans'. The attitude of many Latics 'fans' turned many Wiganers off the football and, it could be argued, has played a part in their troubles.

Not many people are bothered about Latics in Wigan, only 9,000 home fans on Saturday against one of the top 5 sides in European football suggests that.
They could be a lot stronger if they moved to Widnes or St Helens, but those towns are hardly steeped in football tradition.

Think that could be perfect for them, the closer to Skem you get, the more blue and white Latics rs appear. You'll notice from now on.
