Reading in this weeks League Express it states that Wigan have the right to request that the shield is presented to us at the Huddersfield game (should we win) but that we may wait until the final home game of the season against Bradford.

I think waiting until the Bradford game may give us an opportunity to go to town with this marketing wise and hopefully boost the attendance for our last home game.

I know that it has been said many times that its the Superleague trophy that counts but to be practically top of the league all season and to win the minor premiership in the way that we have is a tremendous achievement and i hope we make a big deal out of it.

Does anyone know if a decision has been made by the club on this one?

I have heard the club will save the presentation untill Bradford.

I hope so. Quite a few fans will miss Sunday's game due to holidays they tried to arrange around a Friday game that has since been switched. Plus using the Bradford game would give the club time to get a good publicity push going and get more bums on seats for what would otherwise be a dead rubber against a struggling team.

The club should make a statement before the weekend whether or not the trophy will be presented if we win this Sunday.

If it is to be Bradford I am sure that would increase the gate for what would (hopefully!) be a dead rubber.

Either way given the difficulties moving the Hudds fixture to Sunday has caused fans (I know of one long distance fan who has lost a lot of money on hotel bills due to this) the club should state its intentions as to which game the presentation will be made at so fans can actually plan things in advance.

I don't think it is too much to ask.

There are many supporters that travel a fair distance to get to games and so a decision now makes planning the trip much easier.

In keeping with the way we have marketed games this season i would also like to think that the club will see this as an opportunity to boost the attendance for the Bradford game and build further excitement as we go into the play-offs in the strongest position possible.

Just out of interest do the players receive medals for being League Leaders? Would be nice to think that the players leaving have something to show for their efforts.

Would prefer it at the Huddersfield game, so we can get it out of the way and then focus on the play offs.

Should deffo be at the Hudds game. IF we win we should/would all be celebrating coming top of the league yet nothing to show for it. It would be a bit of a damp squib!!

I think it will give the club more time to make an "event" out of it from a marketing and revenue perspective.

We could/should have had this league leaders trophy wrapped up weeks ago, surely we wouldn't have had to wait until the Bradford game for the presentation. Mr IL capture the moment after the Hudds game!! I'm sure the reason SKY re-scheduled the game on Sunday was just to show the team lifting the hub-cap, wasn't it?

Not really. Its presented when it's won. If we win the Hudds game then we get it then. If we lose the Hudds game then it isn't presented then but it is presented at the earliest opportunity.

All this is assuming we actually do win the league.

One year a bloke from Engage chucked it at Paul Sculthorpe as he ran out of the tunnel for the kick off in the first play off game. they took a quick picture and the game kicked off, no team celebratory moment.

dont know if that was Saints' idea, or an RFL directive not to celebrate coming top of the league.

Was that the year that Saints played their last game of the season at Wigan?

Hope it's Hudds, can't go to Bradford due to being the bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding...no getting out of that one!

Disgrace that, coming top is the hardest achievement in the game.
