Especially as it's in Scotland.

| IMO they should forget taking it on the road to promote it in non rugby league areas. Move it to the last bank holiday at the end of May so its out of the football season and book Old Trafford. Its easily reachable by virtually all fans, and lets face it, with the budget the RFL has, it will never be possible to make rugby league a national sport.
Fill Old Trafford with devoted fans, rake in the £££ with higher attendances and hire a proper marketing person. Preferably somebody who doesn't see rugby league as an alternative to Fisher Price or Teletubbies.

| They'd get more interest from me if they took the next round of the Challenge cup on the road. Eight games over two days which would actually mean something and wouldn't skew the league fixture list.
Trouble is the TV coverage - BBC have the rights to the CC early rounds so I'm not sure what the situation would be with sky covering the remainder. Having said that, if they want to actually promote the game in an expansion area surely the whole point should be to get bodies in the ground rather than watching on Sky?
In its present form it's an unsahamed attempt at getting a few more quid out of regular supporters and I fear that this seasons event will fall totally flat. I'd be very surprised if we saw it again next year.

| Why are people suprised. The RFL are going backwards in a hurry with Lewis seemingly unintrested and Wood in charge.

| They should be advertising this event in a way to attract adults. This wacky races crap is just silly, if you atrract the adults the kids will be with them. Can you imagine a kid going home to their parents with a leaflet with wacky races rugby on it? They will think they've made it at school The people who go to Edinburgh will probably be the fans that would of gone anyway wherever it was so this whole advertising campaign was a complete waste of money. I wonder what they are going to meddle with next because this will be scrapped after this year imo.

Not possible. They only just about let us play one game on that pitch! They will never let us play 7!
Get it back down to south Wales. It is the perfect place for this event!

Couldn't agree more. Moving it from Wales after only a few years was the worst decision they could have made. Why not let it stay there and build a reputation in an area that loves rugby! Cardiff was perfect as well, the stadium is right in the middle of the city and so the atmosphere was electric.
Stupid RFL.

| Dublin would be nice as the next venue...best pi55-up city in the world, and cheaper to get to than either Edinburgh or Cardiff.

| Chris Irvine is hopefully right, it won't be going anywhere next year because it will be cancelled.
It's the 27th game in what should be a 26 game season with each club playing other clubs twice, one home once away. We don't need a 27th game!
If it was a 26 game League then the "hubcap" could be replaced with a proper trophy for being League Leaders with substantial prize money.
We don't need it, poor attendances prove we don't want it, so bin it!

| I don't think we should get rid I just think it should be done properly. It was fantastic when we went down to south Wales. It just needed better marketing! A competition between clubs for whoever could sell the most tickets. More encouragement to get fans from each club to sit together to make a better atmopshere.

| I loved everything about Cardiff. I love Edinburgh as well, but I absolutely hate Murrayfield (not because we have beaten Saints twice there..) but because it's always bloody freezing and once you're in, you're in.
The Millennium Stadium was absolutely perfect for the occasion the RFL wanted; Murrayfield isn't.

From the article linked at the top of the thread "A couple of clubs have clocked up ticket sales of, er, nought. "

Why do we need to drop the 27th game to have a proper trophy with substantial prize money?
Personally I wouldn't even give the hubcap as we have the play-offs to determine who our champion team is. It was only introduced in the first place to stop Bradford whinging.

Just wondering where everyone is staying and where they are meeting up before the game?

Never a truer word spoken.
In my opinion, if you have the playoffs to determine the champions you can't possibly have ANY reward for the 1st placed finish.
