Been in "That London" today and ended up waiting for the train back to Leeds on the concourse at Kings Cross this afternoon with members of the Storm squad travelling up for the WCC. Ended up speaking with a few of them (don't know who - only recognised Slater and Inglis but it wasn't them), anyway to summarise:

- They think there may be some kind of tie-up happening between the two clubs
- We've got an absolute gem in Maguire and reckon he will win us the SL this year
- They can't believe Maguire didn't get a NRL job
- They couldn't believe the atmosphere at the game on Saturday watching on Sky
- They are absolutely desperate to win on Sunday
- They are coming to the Catalan game on Friday night as guests of the club (they think!)

I gave them my best wishes for Sunday.

I said on another thread that it could be Melbourne Storm. Ian Lenagan constantly mentions them at fans forums or he at least did at the last one.

It makes perfect sense that it would be Melbourne given the obvious link between the clubs.

MM does seem very highly rated, I hope that if he leads us to success, we will be able to keep him for longer than the 3 years we have him for currently.

Well I said before MM came that it was a gamble.

It may still turn out to be so.


However, one thing I will say is how much of a nice guy he comes across as. Irrespective of what happens on the field he looks to be a genuine person. I'm impressed thus far.

Would be an absoloutely epic link up.

It would make sense if it was Melbourne but St.George and Brisbane have been mentioned at previous fans forums too.

Andrew Farrer is on their board and keeps up to date with whats going on at Wigan.

Just think, if we get the link up and we both win our respective grand finals... the WCC would be rather fun next year!

A link up with Melbourne would be excellent especially if we can send a couple of players over there to play in the Toyota cup. They'd benefit hugely from the better standard of that competition aswell as the life experience they'd gain living on the other side of the world.

Maybe the clubs could get some sort of fan swap system in place where they send a raft of us over to Melbourne for a month to watch the Storm and Vice versa!

They would be my choice of club. They get some quality young players and to have some over here would be great!

Whoever the team might be, we would be able to go and train with them in the off season which would be fantastic.

i hope they don't expect the same atmosphere on friday as they heard on saturday gone. Because they will be left desperately disapointed.
