Did he come off injured. We only got 9 minutes out of him tonight. Someone just twittered me to say Mossop only played 20 minutes as well?

Although Feka made little impact with the ball he looked to have put in some work in defence, he must have come off injured I can't see why he would have only played 10mins. The strain on the other props must of been shocking as for Mossop. I know he had a spell at the end of the first half and some game time in the second but, it is strange. Suppose we will know more tomorrow or Monday.

I'm sure Mossop played longer than that, but yeah Feka hardly got through any minutes, and didn't look that great in attack when he was on. Mind their pack were giving us sod all yards.

I just hope its nothing serious. Maguire hasn't mentioned anything in his post match comments.

Shame for Mossop if true, when on I though he was superb.

I don't know about Feka, but one things for sure he wasn't a liability in defense when on.

Feka isn't a liability in defence anymore, but he's still the poorest of our props in defence, and the worst going forward at the moment (although the other 3 first teamers have improved). He may have picked up a knock, but for me he just wasn't cutting it out there so Maguire decided to stick with players who were performing better. Once the game became close, bringing Feka on was a risk not worth taking, despite his improved defence.
I imagine he's a player who will improve as the season goes on and he gets more games and he changes his game a little bit.

With Feka losing all that weight, I hope it hasn't stopped him doing his barnstorming runs.

I doubt it, i expect it's more a case of him needing time to bed in and get to grips with his new physique and adapting.

Maybe, but then again I'd MUCH rather have the new Feka - Solid in defence, with the chance of a barnstorming run - than the old Feka - The chance of 1 or 2 barnstormers, but an absolute liability when singled out in defence.

Just look at what Monaghan did last year - He ran at Feka all night and got a lot of joy.

He tried it in the pre-season match this year, and all he got was dumped on his Iestyn (repeatedly).

To be honest i think that was inevitable, but i am confident as the season progresses he will improve in this area. For him to lose the weight , he will have had to neglect some of the power training and look at more aerobic training, whilst this will have benefited his weight loss it will have hampered his power.

Once he is at the weight we require from him, I am sure the emphasis will go back to power training, with enough aerobic training to control his weight at an acceptable level. While the runs may take the hit now as the season progresses and his training becomes more power focused I am certain come October 10th at Old Trafford he will be back to his barnstorming best scattering the Leeds defenders to all corners of the pitch.

He was talkin to the physio after one of their tries and shakin his head, she waved 2 the bench and he was taken off.

That may explain his absence.

Is it me or as feka lost his impact since he lost all this weight?

He seems much easier to tackle this year and making less yards.

I might be wrong, but seen him twice this year and he don't look to have the power he used to.

impressed with phil bailey tonight aswell when he was on, didnt really look like he had been away.

Been told Mossop may have been carrying a rib injury which could be why his game time was limited.

To be honest i was not, although i will say he added some experience when we needed it. He did seem very sluggish (which is to be expected) and gave away a couple of very silly penalties at bad times for us. He was testing the ref but in my opinion he did it at a bad time in areas of the field where he should not on a couple of occasions.

I would have hoped for a little more leadership from him at the end, but to be fair he has been out for a while and he deserves a break so I may be being a little harsh.

I appreciate Tomkins and Mossop have been grabbing the headlines but for me Hansen has been outstanding thus far, and has filled the potential void that will be left by Bailey next year, in fact I think Bailey will have to do something pretty special to get his shirt back from Hansen.

Ive been quietly concerned about Feka given his perofmrnaces so far this season and its not so much his lack of impact bursting through tackles that concerns me but his game time despite the obvious weight loss.

His defence is the main area of improvement for me, so far this season he has made tackles that he could not physically of made last season and in attack his ability to off-load the ball seems to have improved too, but as expected he does seem to have lost something going forward with those big driving runs.

Andy Coley and Stuart Feilden have been outstanding so far this season, i thought Fielden had one of his best games in a Wigan shirt against Warrington last night and in compasrison to those efforts Feka has a lot of improvement in him if he is to remain a Wigan player beyond 2010.

I don't think Feka was injured tbh. I just think Maguire wanted to keep Fielden and Coley on as long as possible because they were head and shoulders our best props.

Feka has lost this weight and found some extra mobility. He's defending better without question but so far hasn't done much with the ball. I think that'll improve as the pitches firm up. I'd also like to see us run him a little wider because he'll cause some damage out there and get a few offloads away to the faster men.

I agree but I would like to see him used as sub because our back three at the moment are magnificent.

Watch it again mate, when we were coming back into the game, he was visably leading the team in the centre circle, telling everyone to calm down and focus.

The leadership was there from him.

That being said, he was rusty, which is understandable after such a bad injury.

He looked like a guy who had been out for a long spell, a bit rusty and the pace the game was played at looked like it took his toll. Will be a good asset for the young second rowers but he will remain a sub for me.

There's always a welcoming commitee when he has the ball these days. I'm pretty sure that if he get's someone one-on-one he'll stomp all over them like he always has done. Feka's invaluable as a dummy runner because he attracts so much attention
