Wigan win the Grand Final or even get to Old Trafford. How can IFL possibly not renew Nobles contract? I would think its already cut and dried that Noble is going by now so how would IFL explain himself should we win it or even get there?

If Noble manages to win us the Grand Final, IFL and alot of fans could end up with some serious egg on there faces. Whoever the new coach is that comes in he is gonna be under massive pressure to deliver. Anything less than the CC semi final and the final eliminator of the play offs next year will be seen as a failure IMO.

Exactly. It's a bit crazy we are within 80 mins of a GF appearance so lets just talk about that between now and what happens next, whatever that may be.

They were replaced at the end of the 85/86 season. The season after the Challenge Cup win (in 84/85). Dorahy's sacking after a season we won the double would be a better example of a precedent.

Winning the GF will be amazing but I don't believe Noble is the one to take us forward. We need a new coach. Just because we can string a few decent wins together at the back end of the year doesnt make him a good coach, or infact, us a good team. We finished 6th this year - behind wakefield, hull kr & huddersfield. In my opinion we should be finishing higher than those teams with the team we have. People forget the dire rugby we played up until about may? Then we start to put some good results together and people want him to stay on.

My view is, Thanks Brian, but it's time for a change.

We won the Challenge cup, finished 3rd in the League, got to the Lancashire cup final under them in 1984/1985, and we finished 2nd in the League, quarter finals of the Challenge cup and won the JPS + Lancashire cups under them in 1985/1986.

So they had a pretty damn good record.

I still have my opinions on what should happen next but I will happily keep them to myself for now. I am sure you will too.

I agree with that. Too many people are swayed by a the last few results and forget the underlying problems. Brian Noble has laid the foundations but we need someone new to finish the job.

I never expressed an opinion, just asked a question or two.

I'm on the fence at the moment, we watch sh|t all season but we do well in the playoffs when it matters.

What exactly would we do if it was the opposite? Hull KR have played some good stuff, but lost both play off games.

We'd be going on about our team bottling it had we done the same.

Like I say they are just questions.
