They should get Reg Reagan in now he has nowt to do at Channel 9. On one of his videos he was "teaching" Canterbury players how to kick.

Over coaching on his part could be to blame.

Must admit our kicking has been not so great this year.

See that's the thing, we've probably not been able to cope with the extra technicality and intricacy of how the ru guys kick a ball ....................

does a kicking coach just work on goals or general kicking game aswell? tommys needs some serious work if he's gonna be our 7 till riddell goes!

On the plus side Sam Tomkins kicking game really looks to be coming on. I thought he kicked really well on Sunday and seems to be taking more responsibility on that front.

IIRC Joe Lydon had some training via US NFL goalkickers .

Totally agree I though his kicking game was superb and along with Phelps who's surprisingly very good with the boot yet doesn't kick much give us quite a choice along with O'Loughlin.

If we can start to nurture a kicking game out of MciLorum then we'll be onto a real winner, Leulaui on the other hand his kicking game should only be utilized for short range efforts as that's a real strong point of his.

Tomkins kicking was great, he always looks for the space to kick in to unlike Leuluai!

I can only remember one poor kick on sunday.

We will need to kick well to beat Hull KR as they will have Briscoe back.

I agree about Sam's kicking game. Hope he is fit enough to take this on at the weekend, otherwise we could be in a sorry state as far as our long kicking game is concerned. I'm certainly no expert on kicking but how come Sam can keep the ball away from the opposing full back and wingers but nobody else can?

We can't complain too much about Tommy's short kicking game after the two delightful punts to Pat on Sunday. More of this required Tommy.

Tbh i dont think his foot should be anywhere near a ball

Isn't a certain Mr. F. Botica now a gk coach? Maybe a call could be made.

Does Riddell even posses a kicking game because if he does we hardly ever see it, having said that after Sunday's effort it's probably a good job we don't see much of it.

I don't want this to be seen as a chance to have a go at Riddell but when he Fielden and Feka came on around the 20 minute mark it was Stuart and Feka who turned the game in are favor not Piggy, in fact I'm trying to think of a game so far this season that he has bossed and dominated and been are defining factor towards winning that game, hopefully it'll be this Saturday against KR.

FWIW McIlorum is decent with the boot.
Lockers is average
Tommy is only a short-kicker
S Tomkins seems to be coming on well
Phelps is a decent kicker
Richards has a hoof on him but lacks accuracy
Palea'aesina injured himself last time he kicked a ball
Amos Roberts seems ok at goal-kicking, not sure about general play kicking
Riddell has the ability, but lacks execution and accuracy at the moment

Used to be coached by Dave Alred who went on to become the england RU coach.

Totally disagree. In the first half I thought Riddell was good, apart from his kick. He was a lot sharper around the play of the ball and his passes, in the main, were excellent. I thought McIllorum was poor with the ball on Sunday.

Thought he coached Pat last year when his kicking improved - previously at Sale RUFC IIRC.

Pat Richards' kicking used to be awful and was coached to be the kicker we know him to be.

Pat's been playing with an injury for a long period this season, which has been refelcted in his kicking.
