Now i know im probably gonna get ripped for this, but here goes anyway.

Aside from the loss that left me feeling gutted after a great start. I was really chuffed for mathers tonight. He's a guy who puts 100% in, and we couldnt fault him for his effort at wigan, it just didnt click though.

I thought he was very good tonight, a million miles away from the player he was with us, and wish him the best at warrington. As long as they still lose though.

Played well. Fair ply to the lad.

Thought he should have dealt better with the kick for our try but outside of that he was very solid and withstood some tough tackles on him.

Always liked the way he plays the game and he deserves some luck.

I didn't think there was any need for the Wigan fans to boo him as he ran out i may add.

Put his hand up tonight big style & took the ball in many times. Adds a dimension when coming into the line in attack as well.

Guess he is 1 of those players who sometimes needs a new club to kick start his career

Watching as a neutral, I have to say he had a decent game last night although on balance, since he left Leeds there haven't really been too many good performances.

Cracking front line defence from Wire meant that Mathers didn't get exposed the way he was at times here... The way we are defending now, Mathers would have really done a job for us... but then again, the fans had already hounded him out so...

Anyone else notice him calming down Sam Tomkins when he was raging at the ref over a decision? To do that for an opposition player shows leadership and maturity that teams need. Good game from him last night, almost every time he took the ball up, he earned a penalty, and Wigan were on the back foot again. I'm surprised that Nobby allowed schoolboy vendettas to be a part of such an important game.

maybe there was some truth in mathers comments this week when he said he is enjoying being coached....

He had a solid game, fair play to him.

He had a great game, a much improved player already. A change of clubs is the best thing that could of happend for him.

I was looking forward to seeing him again and was genuinely pleased that he did so well, always wanted him to play like that for us and it was a shame it didn't happen as he seems a good bloke and has a great attitude. Glad his career seems to be back on track.

Looked sharper then he ever did at Wigan and contributed a lot to Warrington in their attack which drew defenders out of our line and led to at least one of their tries.

Good performance from him.

at some of these comments. He was hardly tested at all! All the kicks went straight to him. He made an error at the kick off which led to us having pressure on the Warrington line, then failed to clear a kick which led to our try.

Thats what i thought.

I like the lad but he wasn't exactly Billy Slater last night was he?

He messed up for out try and then went onto have a solid game even managing to take a hammering on plenty of occasions whilst taking the ball out.

Hope he kicks on for them because he deserves some luck.

Last nights performance by mathers was how he played for wigan when we played lesser clubs like salford, quins etc. and when he wasn't tested, and people would be on here saying, 'he playing better' - yes only better because the opposition didnt show him up, not because hed improved.

The bombs he had aslo, the only pressure put on him was by the fans, the bombs were straight to him and no runners within 10 years.....Had we played better and tested him, then he would have reverted to type...Mathers against Austrailia would be suicide and is laughable anyone to ever say mathers for england, especially when we gift them breaks for fun. With mathers every clean break = Try and theres not much point in him at FB. if we'da made breaks last night we would have won and won handsomly!

Ps. as much as I think hes an awful player, he always gives his all and was one of the few players who did that at wigan, for him to be boo'd last night was awful.....yes pressure him when the bomb goes up but don't boo the lad who gave 110% for wigan every week. He just simply isnt good enough for wigan, which is a shame given his committment. As happy as I am he's gone, he gave his all and was good for team morale and effort. Unfortuately for him though mathers playing his heart out talent wise is still not as good as a class FB playing like he cba!

Sing when your winning, you only sing when you winning. Would you like a little wager that Smith will remain at Warrington longer than Noble? Good game and the result reflected that.

Pleased for Mathers, he had a good game last night and looked to have some confidence back.

No doubt he will develop well under Tony Smith.
