Just like to congratulate the two very brave Saints fans that knocked a father to the ground from behind and kicked him in the head twice before running off leaving him lying in a heap on the pavement. The bloke had been to the match and was walking home with his young son when these retards decided to have a go just because he was a Wigan fan. An ambulance was called and as far as i know he was taken to the infirmary and i hope he is fine. If any of you know these idiots do us all a favour and let them be known to the police. We dont need this in our game,they are scum and nothing else and do St Helens reputation no favours whatsoever. Before anyone ask are you sure they where Saints fans ? Well they both had Saints shirts on so there you go. The blokes son was lucky. He was left alone but it must have been pretty disturbing having to watch your father beaten up by two losers. Hope they are proud of themselves. Put this on the Saints board and it was locked WHY I was just trying to make a point that there is no need for this type of goings on in our game. Even accused me of throwing insults on their board. Small minded

Bus stop outside of Rathbones. Me the wife and my lad was walking home and there was quite a few Wigan fans with him that had stopped. They had phoned a Ambulance for him.

That's because you came on to our board with an attack. You could have just as easily related the story and asked people for help identifying the Saints fans involved. You could have done it as one concerned RL fan to another but you didn't, so you got told to pi$$ off effectively.

It wasn't our fault the lad got beaten up. We were just chatting on our board. Some of us couldn't even make it to the match so we weren't even in Wigan. If you want support then you have to be approachable when you visit the 'other side'. If you want to be shut down then come at us attacking style, like it's our fault two violent and no doubt drunken d1ckheads beat some guy up.

Like I said on my own board, I hope the police find them and they are duly punished. I also hope the lad is ok.

it seems a very serious situation and it shouldnt be locked, the people who have done this are scum and are no doubt one gamers!

have you phoned the police yet? If not why not?, they'll be lots of cctv so should catch these animals. The point on our board was that this is a police matter and the accused probably dont post on here.

The problem with any thread like this is they soon turn into "our fans are better than yours" slanging matches.

We have idiots the same as any club unfortunately, I witnessed Wigan 'fans' fighting each other in large numbers at Old Trafford, one of them, who had his own kids with him, propped himself up against me as he threw a punch and dived 3 rows forward to attack someone.

Where did you park your car? There are a few dodgy areas near the ground where cars get vandalised by locals, even when it's not a match day.

Hope the chap is ok and they catch the scum who did it.

Unfortunately this is creeping into society more and more not just into our great game hope the 2 culprits are found and dealt with but i feel if they do get the pair that did it they will just get a caution off the police.

I agree this is where the RFL should get tough. I am sure the Saints club would ban them but it needs the RFL and police to get a database on these so called fans and ban them from all grounds for life. And it should also be a shared database for all sporting clubs Rugby League. Union and football ban them from all live sporting events

As one post above states 'knowing where it took place, and ctv all around there, then hopefully the police will be able to identify the attackers, and prosecute them' ....it is no use expecting forum board members to pick them out without a clue as to who they are. Unfortunately in this society the police and the criminal legal system is not the best option. As somebody else said, they would probably end up with a caution. The problem is that our penal policy is based on a system of numbers of prison cells available, and not offending rates and locking up scum.

Vigillantyism seems like the only real option which will ever sort this country out now and pull it from the dogs.

Unfortunately not enough people seem aggrieved enough to take direct action. We have a minority of scum and underclass in this country, and examples like this are endemic everywhere. This scum constantly spoil the lives of 95% of the rest of the decent population. Until the rest of society hits back we will have to put up with increasing numbers of scum, and increases in incidents like this!!!

Unfortunately there were either not enough other people in this area, or too many cowards at the time of the incident to back this man up. On this occasion two wrongs would have certainly made a right, and its a shame there werent 5 or 10 decent lads there who could have jumped these lads themselves and put them in hospital.
