We've had some rapid players over the years but whilst I don't think we have a particularly slow team we don't have any real speedsters this season. Who do you think is the quickest at the club?

I'd say probably Roberts,

Sam Tomkins if he keeps this form up he’ll know what’s best and run away from Wigan!

Maybe he'll break all records and run away from Wigan faster than Ryan Bailey runs away from a fight.

I disagree because I really think we have some pace in the backs this year. Amos Roberts I would say is the quickest likewise, if he gets free he'll run the length of the field and no-one will catch him IMO.

Pat Richards is deceptively quick.

Over the full distance, it's between Phelps, Roberts and Tomkins I would suspect.

However, over 40m or less, you'd have to throw Ainscough and Tommy in the mix.

I'd have thought Pat may come into it over the full length.

Sam Tomkins or Pat for me.

Don't think Fitzpatrick laid a finger on Sam in Friday's game, cracking stuff!

Know where you're coming from but not from a standing start. Pat has a good top speed due to his stride but isn't blessed with powerful acceleration. When he's already at speed when he takes a pass, I agree, he's up there.

I would not have Phelps in that list myself after seeing him try a length of the field run at Leigh in the friendly and run out of steam badly.

Over the full distance I would go with Roberts.

Feka is pretty quick to be fair! I reckon the fastest would be Paddy. Roberts hasn't really shown how fast he is capable of yet.

i agree. it might take him 30 yards to get there but he is not as slow as big tezza was. remember at hull a few years ago when he did his 70 yard dash befeore trying to dummy the fullback?. highlight of the game for me that was

The one thing Richards (for a winger) seems to lack is genuine pace...I would think Roberts would be a lot quicker.

People are just assuming. Until we see otherwise, Richards is our quickest player.

roberts is quickest over 100 metres but over 40 or 50 i dont think anyone would get near ainscough

I reckon Richards is the quickest, the few times he has been put through a gap he hasn't been caught.

Quickest over 40 is Roberts.

Suprisingly Riddell is quick over 40 also.

Quickest over the full lenght is Richards/ Pryce.

Yeah, but over 100m? He'd probably need a rest half way.

i agree. there is no better sight in the game than watching a big old unit knocking defenders on their bootys like they were not there.

anyway back OT. you would think that Roberts would be the fastest but until bail's starts chucking the ball his way we will never know. unless they have "the fastest man in SL" like they did a few years ago (IIRC Darren Albert won it??)
