| He was awful, but we had oppurtunities to win the game which we didn't take. We cannot simply blame Silverwood. Even if he is a blind .

Correct.
The game ends on the referees whistle , not the hooter.
The referee got it wrong, but the players should have made the next tackle.
Harsh, but true.

| Incorrect.
If the referee had blown the whistle like he should have, the players wouldn't have been in the position to 'lose the game'.

| What about the Dobson no-try in the 1st half when Roberts chased him down, looked perfectly legitimate on the 3 or 4 replays I saw at half time.
I suggest we look in house for reasons why we lost tonight before blaming Silverwood.

Yes, but he didn't blow the whistle, therefore the players should have made the next tackle and not switched off.
It's the oldest call in sport: "play to the whistle". (Not the hooter)
edit: just to be clear, I agree the ref fecked up with regards to the hooter, but as he didn't blow up the players should have played on.

| Wigan had numerous opportunities to make that decision irrelevant, but they didn't have the guile or invention to take them.
I seriously don't understand what Noble is doing in training every day.
When Saints get close to the opponents line they have so many people on the move it's mesmerising. When Wigan get close to the line we get 5 dummy half dives then a fumble.

Wasnt that Briscoe?
The ref not hearing the hooter is shambolic to say the least, you know as a ref when the half is nearing an end and your expecting it... to not hear it is unbelievable!
Poor Poor ref tonight simple

Yes, he was, but that's not the reason Wigan lost.
Poor team selection, poor tactics, and non-existent creativity are the reasons we lost.

The in goal judge was in perfect position to give that decision. The replays you saw, I presume on the tvs under the stand show a view from a camera on the halfway line in the West Stand. It is impossible from that camera angle to see if it was (or wasn't) a try.

| Im not a 30 year veteran of watching rugby league and nor do i claim to be an expert but what do the touch judges actually do? Last night the guy was inches from play many times at the east standside where the ref wasnt and he just stands there spectating... ive seen this in all my years watching and its baffling to say the least!! Why dont they assist the ref? The amount of offsides aswell that he dosent even raise his flag for or get involved in is unbelievable!!
It seems to me that their only purpose is to dictate as to where the ball went out of play... How Pish!

So if a Wigan player had intercepted a pass and gone clear, but as he crossed the halfway line the hooter went you would be pi$$ed if the ref blew up, the same thing applies, Dobson had a live ball when the hooter went and until he either touched down or got tackled it was play on. We had the same thing last season when we beat Saints at Craven Park, the hooter went and the ref let play go on for quite a while because Saints were in posession and the ball was still in play.
The ref got it spot on.

A very good question.
The ref last night didn't have a great game and unfortunately when you make as many mistakes as he did some will turn out to be turning points in the game. On balance last night Hull KR deserved to win - just - but crucial refereeing errors at various points undoubtedly assisted them. Games should not be decided by the lottery of poor refereeing decisions and last night came quite close to that.
In defence of the referees though it has to be said that the game is so fast that its impossible for one man to properly control it. The refereee needs more assistance. Touch judges seem to do very little. Rather than introduce a second ref as they have done in Australia, the more cost-effective scenario would be to get the touch judges doing more. Its blindingly obvious but unfortunately the people running the game in this country seem incapable of sorting out even simple issues like this....

No he didnt. The ball HAD NOT been played when the hooter went. Meaning it was dead.

Perhaps Noble should complain to the media and get a £2000 may be next time we will then get the luck of the bounce from the Ref. Bit strange last year Saints complained about an official and did not get him again all season and this year Morgan complains gets a fine then loads of luck.
But at the end of the day for most of the game we played well with loads of commitment we went a bit silly in the last 15mins but it was a good game if you take the Ref out of it i am sure we will bounce back next week the saving grace is that no matter what happens this weekend we will still be 9th and only 2 point behind Cas with a better points difference.

| Maybe the referee didn't hear the siren, but surely one of the four other officials did.
Why didn't the touchjudge just stand his ground, as he would if it were a forward pass, and inform the referee that the siren had gone.

Agreed mate. TBH we have had some shocking decisions against us all season. This is the first one that has gone in our favour for a change. Mind you, Wigan were knackered for the last 10 minutes of the first half.
I think it was a fair score at half time.
