Looking at the squad for Saturday against Barrow suggests he won’t start against Saints, think Lam has it in mind that whoever impresses the most out of Sammut/Escare will get that bench spot but might be wrong

Lam stated very clearly that the 17 for Saints won’t play against Barrow. That’s the clearest indication that Sammut won’t play against Saints unless there’s an injury or he’s given a bench spot. Remember he’s not been with us long and perhaps needs a few more weeks to get fully up to speed with our plays etc. Not long until we find out and I can’t wait.

Escare a doubt with a calf strain, looking like a four forward bench now.

We're quite versatile. SRs can move to the centres, Lockers can cover 9, 6 and 7 as can Powell. I'm ok with loading up the bench with forwards. We can cover any unforeseen issues.

If Escare is out then Sarge to full back and Hankinson to centre.

Or just play our best full back at full back?
