I think you should prepare yourself for lots of posts from the Noble believers, desperate to keep their messiah at Wigan!

To be honest, there isn't much there that we didn't already know.

It would make sense actually. With the recent turmoil at Celtic concerning the players being sent home, it might explain why no announcement was made public - perhaps Noble was reconsidering his position.

But at the end of the day, I think you're being over-pessimistic. If Noble's signed a new deal with Wigan - tough on Celtic. He can't go. If he hasn't, all well and good. We need a new coach, and presumably will either announce one the moment Nobby confirms that he's going, or will appoint a caretaker - like Shaun Wane, who many rate very highly.

One or two who've recently taken it on themselves to bemoan BN's inevitable departure will complain bitterly. But the majority, I suspect, think that it's time for a change.

We defernatly need a change and if Brian goes good luck to him with a bit of luck he will take Fielden with him leaving us some money on the cap for a new prop

Dixon won't be head coach at Celtic next year. They will get a replacement.
As for Noble going there, who knows?
With all the rumours around we could have a new coach and a new owner by next season.
Personally I'd prefer to keep both Lenagan and Noble!

With so many foreign players I actually think they would be better off with an NRL coach, maybe one who is currently an assistent looking to better himself as a coach.

They have been bailed out, probably a few times now by the RFL so it would not suprise me.

Sorry i may have read the original post wrong, but i read it as it was we as in wigan who are rumoured to have a new owner.

If im wrong then good as i think IL has done a outstanding job so far, all things being equall anyway.

Yeah but its on the wigan board, and the quote actually reads "we could have a new coach and a new owner" and it was posted by a wigan fan.

So I think Father_Ted actually meant wigan, not celtic.

Rumours all year about Noble, then this week on this forum and the other board too about IL backing out.
Hope to hell it's not true about Ian Lenagan.

It's not true, and the club are very 'unhappy' about the rumour starting in the first place.

So supposedly Celtic will announce his signing within the next 2 weeks, good! If Lenegan hasn't announced anything by then on what are coaching situation will be, he'll be forced to then.

The bbc have reported that celtic are keeping tight lipped over this rumour. One of the league weekly reporters spoke with celtic fans last saturday and the rumour is spreading like wildfire in wales that Noble has signed for them. This reporter questioned Noble when he was wembley at the weekend and Noble smirked and quickly changed the subect. I think there may be some substance to this rumour.

The thing I can't get my head round (if true) is why Celtic? Surely there must be an oppurtunity coming up at Hull and Bradford in the near future. He would have the resources there to at least try and get some success. Celtic are no-hopers IMO.

If Noble gets them above bottom in their second season, he's the master. If he doesn't, no worries because they didn't have the resources.
