Hanley played 6 seasons for us, by the time of Sams current contract (3yr I'll use) He will have done 6 by the time he's 25!
If he plays the remaining 3 anywhere close to what he's done so far He'll be up there with Hanley as the best I've seen at Wigan.

He is the most talented player I have seen at Wigan. I would love to see him turn down numerous deals in RU to stay with us. He would be right up there with the biggest legends to ever play at Wigan.

You know he is special when other fans actually cheer everytime he gets tackled.

Up there with the most exciting players I have ever seen at Wigan. But for every Sam we need a Hansen. His work rate is superb, the chase on Sammut yesterday was outstanding, and to think there were a few on here who wanted rid last year.

I would love to see how Sam would go playing alongside Cooper Cronk, Cameron Smith and Adam Blair.



That chase from Hansen forced Sammut wide and he went on to miss the kick. That kind of effort can win games.

How good is it to have the best player in Super League? Fackin brilliant after those dark days of relegation threatened seasons were we didnt know weather we was coming or going.

Sam is without doubt the best player ive ever seen at Wigan, and long may it continue.

It's a sign of how good he is that he can play like yesterday and still not get picked in a lot of people's top 3 for mom or in the top 3 in the league express.

He caused Bradford problem after problem yesterday and had 3 assists including a contender for pass of the decade yet for this lad he had just an ok day and that's scary.

Having watched Wigan for 50+ years and been lucky enough to see some of our great players like Boston, McTigue, Ashton, Ashurst, Hanley, Gregory etc, I believe Sam will (if not can) be compared with these 'legends', quality player, a joy to watch, and, a really nice lad.

He definitely will be if he stays for a few more years. He loves Wigan and is Wigan through and through and it would be great if he stayed for the rest of his career like Radlinski.

When you consider how well rated, and held in high esteem, such players as Brett Kenny (25 games),John Ferguson (25 games),Steve Renouf (59 games) and Trent Barrett (59 games) are, Sam's 100 games makes him seem like a veteran !!!

I wouldnt class them as legends either though.

Sam already tops the league for tackles bust and clean breaks. Plus he's only 40 meters behind the top meter maker in the competition, James Roby, who's made 26 carries more than Sam.

And already Roby has scooted from dummy half 82 times

in three games.

He steps out of dummy half a lot though. Most good hookers do as it adds an extra man to the attacking line. So it's little wonder he makes so many runs from dummy half.
