I have got to say i thought his comments about people writing them of was Brilliant.

I was one who thought an ageing team ect.

Great performance, great run they have had since we beat them at wembley.

Fair play to them. They've done tremendously well for a team down in the dumps most of the season. His comments about everyone writing them off was spot on...but who could blame them at the time?

I don't venture on other teams forums much, but I remember going on there the week before Wembley and they were getting pumped by Quins down in London at half time, the section of Leeds fans were screaming 'McDermott Out' as they left the field.

After a brave performance at Wembley (If BJB had kept hold of the ball instead of chipping Sam,I still believe they would have won), and now winning the GF against all odds I wonder how they feel about him now. Is he still the man to lead them forward nest season despite losing 11 league games but leading them to success?

You have to say they really have come into form at the right time but i dont know if anybody else felt like the game was being played by two teams who had simply landed lucky by playing us and Warrington when we were both well below par for whatever reason? It felt like for whatever reason Wigan and Warrington couldnt make the final so the RFL got the two next best teams in Saints and Leeds. I know that sounds ignorant but its how i felt watching it.

And people wonder why no one likes Wigan fans.

I don't understand what he expected, instead of being so bothered about people writing them off, he should be looking at WHY they did it. Leeds were awful for most of the season, can't blame folk for writing them off, most of their own fans did too. FIOS.

Yes you sound very ignorant, saints had to beat you home and away to get to the final!

My opinion is that Leeds are on auto pilot, a trophy winning team is always going to have those habit's, as shown tonight.

The big test for McDermot is when the older and better heads of the squad retire and he has to go about replacing them.

It won't happen imo, we have been very lucky at leeds to have this group of players all come through at the same time (Sinfield, Burrow, McGuire, JJB, Etc) who won a few academy GF's together and with the salary cap it's impossible to keep spending into an existing successful team ala Man U who started with Beckham, Giggs, Scholes etc and built on what they started.

Made me cringe. Thought he was better than that. Keep those type of thoughts behind closed doors and certainly use them to motivate but have more grace than that when winning.

Sums that club up. When baldy left last year I was happy & thought Leeds' housing times would be in the past.
