Hi all
My Son and a couple of his mates have recently started doing a weekly Podcast on Spotify reviewing the previous weeks Wigan game, along with a complete review of all the other SL games plus an NRL review.
Back end of that they preview the upcoming weeks games.
Would appreciate it if any of you get chance to give it a listen and any feedback/ideas would be appreciated
The 4th episode reviewing Good Friday has just gone up, but the other 3 are also on there if you wanted to go back and listen to them also.
They're new to this and it's small steps currently bit so far so good I reckon.

| started listening to this weeks podcast, then got kicked off due to internet problems  , so picking it back up shortly
Updated - listed to it all this afternoon without internet issues
Good starter and something i'd listen to on a regular basis. Whilst its Wigan based, they also showed good knowledge of other clubs too and i dont think they'd get many disagree with their comments on their respective clubs. I completely agree with their assessment of Huddersfield, and think Watson is actually holding them back.
As an idea for future, and something i've heard on other podcasts i listen to (not that many i hasten to add), is that they get a guest on. I'm into triathlon, so the podcast i listen to has had triathletes, physio, sports psychologist etc, so you can still talk about the subject, plus extend the conversation out slightly. On that basis, they could ask a player, coach, CEO etc to give them other things they can chat about, and they dont necessarily need to be from Wigan. Pretty sure DB from Leigh would love some exposure |

So far a player, member of backroom staff, and a CEO of a SL team all lined up. Needs a little bit of organising and not sure they'll be able to do one of thise every week but 1 every 3 or 4 episodes I think will just give it the variety it needs.

Think I remember them saying they didn't have the time any more.
I had a quick listen to part of the new podcast today and it is very good. Podcasting has become huge over the last decade. I wouldn't know what the best strategy is to advertise and grow subscriber numbers - is it best to spread it across multiple podcast apps alongside Spotify and get it on YouTube as well? Maybe the club's media department would be willing to help. |

Is there any way they can stream it live on Facebook? Will reach a larger audience with Wigan fans to start off which in turn should increase the number of followers on Spotify. A lot of people do prefer to watch videos over listening. |

Looking forward to listening to this on a weekly basis now
i'm still working from home, and dont listen to commercial radio, so this is filling an hour or so of my day as i can still happily work and listen.
as i and others have commented the discussion has been excellent so far, with a fair unbiased view on not only Wigan, but all other clubs too. I personally dont watch NRL, so that bits probably a little wasted on me, but shows the level of interest the lads have in RL as they are very knowledgeable about the game in Oz too
well done and good luck with future episodes and hope the lads can get enough of a following to make it worthwhile for them |

Have listened to a couple of these myself now over the weekend, very impressed and a good listen, have followed them on spotify and will listen to any future ones. I thought the specials they mention such as the IMG one and specials for big events like State of Origin is a good idea that i hope they stick to.
Told the lads i go rugby with about it aswell on sunday and shared the spotify link in the group chat, sure a few of them will enjoy it also.

A couple of days ago we sat with equipment & kot manager Roy Dickinson and statistician Malc Clarke to discuss their 50years between them work at Wigan RLFC and some of the details of what goes on behind the scenes
And also their 125 years between them as Wigan fans, how they started following Wigan, their favourite (and worst momwnts) and they discuss their favourite players in all those years.
I was privileged to sit in on this (and got a few words in ) and thoroughly enjoyed learning about what goes on behind the scenes, but particularly listening to their stories of following Wigan from the Highs of the late 50s/60s, the dark days of the late 70s, early 80s, the unforgettable mid 80s to mid 90s and their journey from Central Park to the new stadium.
I'll update when the special is on
