Spot on and it should be Shorrocks to miss out for me.
Wouldn't surprise me if Bateman plays at centre in place of Thornley with Isa keeping his spot.

I’d really like a team like this. Another look at Field 6 French 1 (they only had 1 training session before last week). Give Tommy another 2 weeks off to get over his injury.
And obviously want Halsall to get a run in the side for the next 6 weeks.
Also would like another look at Miski.
However I think Peet will go

I reckon that's how Peet will go but it seems a bit negative, with Salford getting battered off a HKR team that had been struggling itself I'd like to see us have a real go at them

He won't start Tommy this week - at best he'll come off the bench. Confident it'll be the same 1, 6 and 7 as last week.

French
Miski Halsall Bibby Marshall
Field Smith
Singleton Powell Ellis
Bateman Farrell Partington
Subs
Byrne, Havard, Mago, Leuluai.

| How would we introduce Tommy off the bench?
Powell does 80, full back line shuffle ?

This but I think we will see Shorrocks rather than Tommy on the bench

| I think this could be a tough one.
I thought they gave us a really good game at home and it needed a Field special to clinch it.
If Salford play a similar game and perform as well I think that it will be as close again.
Hopefully we can get a good start that has eluded us in the last 3 games.

Well I was wrong - Tommy starts, Isa at centre. Probably the first time Iv disagreed with Peet's team selection.

Very just need a few of these kicks to find the ground. Salford playing all of there subs is going to be a big turning point later I imagine

| Pretty solid but I do think a negative team selection has dampened our attack - a Leuluai/Smith combo doesn't feel right. Bevan starved of any good ball on the wing.

| A fair few more opportunities for Bevan in the 2nd half
Havard, Singleton, Smith and Isa were very good. Some really nice skill shown by Marshall tonight as well.

| Like most of our games this season, I'll be interested to watch it back, But another solid display, I thought. We got the dominance which enabled our pace out wide to do their stuff, and we scored the tries. Can't say fairer than that as far as I'm concerned.

| Solid performance for me. First half was flat but solid, didn’t do a lot wrong and just kept cool when things weren’t really gelling.
The second half was superb (until we switched off at 75mins). Our attack flowed and we looked like we stepped up the defensive effort too - not that it needed it.
Very happy with last night and the way we’re going at the minute. I’ll be the first to admit I was a bit taken a back with Isa at centre and our bench but glad to be proved wrong. I thought Isa had a good game to be honest.
Just one critique if I may. And it’s not at us or Salford but that commentary on Sky last night was amongst the worst I’ve ever heard. That second Bevan French try was incredible yet they made it sound like he was playing crown green bowls. A serious revamp is needed, it’s getting to the point of being unwatchable on Sky.

I agree, compare that commentary from SKY for French's second try against Channel 4 for the Field last minute try against Salford. Apples and Oranges.

What a difference! Even Eddie and Stevo would have wet their pants with that try last night!

I had to mute it.
I understand they need to pump the underdog up to make the game more interesting to neutral viewers.
Every Wigan pass was forward, everyone was offside from kicks.
The tipping point for me was them saying Salford had Wigan right where they want them in the game (despite being 6-0 and not threatening our line once).

| I thought it was close to being the worst commentary I've seen since the heady days of Eddie and Stevo. The ludicrous fawning over Salford, who were visibly struggling with the way Wigan were running them around as early as 20 mins in, exposed a group of men who really don't understand what they are watching, or choose not to. Was there anyone in the UK apart from that small group (and Sarge, bless!) who didn't expect the Wigan deluge in the second half?
