| The players are going to be tired in August when this rule change is introduced. My question is if players are negative how are they going to catch the virus by being in scrums?

No different than in a tackle.
Make you wonder if here is a hidden agenda to scrap scrums on a permanent basis now that the hookers no longer strike for the ball.
If so, how can our game be classed as a code of rugby!

| Feels a bit gimmicky to me.
Does an absence of scums really reduce the risk of infection in a game of heavy and constant physical contact?
I know some doctors have put their names down for this, but there are some doctors who, if we let them, would have us playing in helmets or just playing tap.

It's very different than a tackle. They estimate around 1,500 less contacts per game.

It supposedly only takes one, though, doesn't it? So why allow any kind of contact sport to go ahead?
But hey, I'm not medically trained. If someone decides it's essential, who am I to argue? But someone had better tell the NRL.

| I fear for the Yawnion game if scrums and "all pile on" are removed. They'd actually have to pass and run with the ball.

Because tests are only at a particular point in time - you can test negative one day, catch the virus the next and therefore be infectious.

So why bother testing at all? Why not just tell people who have symptoms to self isolate? I have been questioning this obsession with test numbers from the start. I just dont see what exactly it proves other than the result at the time of the test. By the time of a negative result coming through you could of been infected.
To be honest, i predict that within 2 months, Covid will be almost unheard of and the numbers of new infections so small that there will be no need for social distancing.

Thats the narrative we are lead to believe but going off the stats, there has not been any spike in new infections so far despite the first major protest taking place nearly 2 weeks ago. Likewise, in many parts of the Florida where the beaches have been open and packed for over a month, no spike in new cases. These 'idiots' protesting could actually turn out to be useful idiots in that they may end up proving there is no need for strict social distancing and no need to keep supporters out of stadiums.

Where are you getting your 'information' from? Fox News?
Florida's 7 day average for new cases has increased rapidly to over 2k per day over the last couple of weeks (up from av 700 per day back in mid May) which coincides with the opening of the beaches.

Just cause Trump and Pence say 'it's going to go away' doesn't make it so.

Wrong schmendrick. Many of the Florida beaches have been packed for nearly 2 months. I have been watching then on Skyline Webcams. No spike was seen after the opening of the beaches. The increase in cases came over the past fortnight which is due to infected people from out of state traveling into Florida

No they haven't. There's lots of different beaches in Florida, all of which fall under different county jurisdictions. Most, granted to vote late April to reopen. Most only fully reopened Mid May, some late June. Coinciding with the idiot in the White House's actions everyone flocked to the beaches, nobody is social distancing (despite ongoing restrictions/policies in place) and symptoms start increasing exponentially. Here we are in mid June and numbers have rocketed.
BTW i look at various news sources for balance, not BBC. I suggest you do the same.

Some only opened late June? We are only half way through June. Did you even read the link you posted? It clearly shows that the majority of the beaches have been open 6-8 weeks (nearly 2 months), whilst some never even closed. The county with the beaches that were closed the longest (Miami Dade) has by far the highest Covid 19 infections in Florida, but you keep believing that its the people on beaches causing the spread. You look back at the stats and it clearly shows that there was no spike coinciding with the majority of beaches opening. The spike happened in the last 2 weeks, With an incubation period of up to two weeks, you would expect a spike within two weeks of the beaches opening. It never happened. Either way, the death rates among infected individuals in Florida are exceptionally low for some reason, same in Texas and California.
As for calling the guy in the White House an idiot, perhaps we could list his life achievements next to yours? You dont want to go there.... working in a muffler shop in a back street in Wigan is not really what id call an achievement.
