Have you not thought it may be the first of a number of announcements today?

Mitch is a decent player. He’s been fully committed at Cas and he’s been on a low contract given the circumstances we signed him in a coupe of years ago. If he’s been offered a good salary for three years, he leaves with my best wishes.

4 day build up to announce something that everyone already knew. Unbelievably out of touch with the fans.

Are they to officially announce Williams?

I’m satisfied with him as Hamlin’s replacement. Now, more please!

Burgess signs 1 year deal? Is that so he can sort out a move to the NRL? May aswell F off now.

Clark's a good player - he'll go well for us as long as he's not asked to be our main starting prop.

Burgess on a 1 year deal is not good news at all, despite the increasingly painful spin in these press releases. Essentially they've announced he'll be leaving at the end of 2020. Meanwhile St Helens manage to sign up the likes of Thompson and Makinson to multi year extensions.

I'm hoping Burgess on a 1 year deal is to give themselves time to evaluate Manfredi's recovery and Marshall's progress, rather than Burgess only wanting to commit for one year.

A pi$$ take the way they are doing this . Somebody at Wigan needs a talking too the way they treat the fans regardless of what is still to come . No wonder Mick Hogan and Simon Collinson left .

Is Clark any good? Serious question, I'm not sure I've ever seen him play and I heard he got loaned out to Fev last season.

So far so good for me, though I would have liked longer from Burgess.

So far this is all very dire...

-Clark? I'm on the fence. Need to see more of him play before I make a judgement, nevertheless, not blown away.
-Burgess 1 year. In favour of who? If it's in favour of the player you could argue he wants another season here before having another crack at the NRL. Not good for long term.
-Smithies, great signing. Love the kid.
-Partington? Not impressed. Saw several stats on him which were poor to say the least. 4 years off the back of his performances seems extreme.
-Wells, been injured so much I've forgotten what he looks like. Again I'm unsure.

If this is it then once again I'm left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.

But... signing Hastings and Watkins would make it all ok.

However, I think we're more than likely to get 'Lam to stay on for another 2 years' and Jake Bibby signs; both of which send me further into my Wigan RL depression.

Oh I agree we need more but in terms of squad announcements I’m okay so far.

However I love the irony of some posters who wanted him to F Off to the NRL etc. now moaning he's only signed for 1 year
(And the reason it pees me off is that he said ONCE! that at some point he would like to give the NRL another go - He was 21 when he came back for goodness sake! The usual suspects jumped on that comment and regurgitated it for the next 3 years and made it out like he'd said it 20 times - He didn't, he said it once - But they come out with comments like "He keeps going on about going back to the NRL" - He doesn't, they're just reading posts from posters who keep repeating what he said once and then keep saying he keeps saying it when he didn't!!!)
