Joe Greenwood trained for the 1st time within 24 hours of his plane landing and is highly likely to play on Thursday against Leeds. Shaun Wane yet to decide whether or not to play Lockers or Bateman but I think he must. We have to stop the rot and play our strongest possible side this week as we have a decent rest before the next game.

I'd have thought Bateman was nailed on for the centre spot with Sarginson getting injured last week.

I noticed they had Lockers and Bateman down at some recovery centre today from the club Instagram feed so it looks like they’re giving them the best chance of being fit.

I’m pretty sure they’ll play Bateman as they’ll probably not have a choice. Lockers may depend on the outcome of any disciplinary action against Isa. It looked a bit of a non event from the other end of the stadium to me but some Cas fans are calling for the electric chair so he may cop a ban. It sounds like Farrell will be back so with him and Greenwood available we’ll be in much better shape then Friday.

I can't see Escare playing, he didn't look good when he was taken off on Friday.

Sarginson might still play, it’s not as bad as thought and they’ll make a call early this week.

What about Mullen in the centre?

Would have thought Wigan would be keen to start converting some of the academy wing prospects to centre - we seem to have an abundance of the former and not many of the latter.

Very impressed that Greenwood is apparently ready to go just a couple of days after getting off a plane.

Wigan gave him a run at centre against Souths and he went pretty well. I also noticed he was listed at centre on the BBC site for Swinton at the weekend so it may be in the thinking.

Well didn’t realise just how big Greenwood is, he looks like he’s going to be a significant capture for us once he gets some more games under his belt but just love how it often needs 2 or 3 players to bring him down.

Size in the forwards is what we have been lacking for a couple of years now, as highlighted by Radlinski & Leneghan after the roosters game. Good to see we are finally addressing it.

I was actually underwhelmed by him. I expected a bit more 'punch' from him considering hes a big lad but he was easily handled and turned around in the tackle.

He landed in the country on Monday!

Considering he landed on Monday, trained Wednesday and played Friday with a new group of lads having rarely played at all this year; it was a pretty good showing.

Played Thursday in fact! Great start, great attitude, plenty more to come. Some folk are never satisfied mate.

I’m pretty surprised by this tbh. Yes they’re having a poor year but injuries have really hit them hard and I don’t think the backing from the board in regards to replacing the players who’ve left has been good enough.

They’re in a similar position to us for 2019 in that there will need to be a rebuild job under a new coach. They’ve got guys like Ablett, JJB, Hall and Moon off contract and as ever they seem in even less of a rush then us to find replacements. We’re fortunate in that we’ve starting our rebuild already with the signings of Hardaker and Greenwood.

Maybe they have found out he is coming to Wigan next season..... *Chuckles*

Hope our new coach is already sorted, wouldn’t want to be competing with Leeds as no doubt they will look to Australia as well.
