Wane says there will be a thorough investigation into a disappointing season. Surely IL should be saying this? Wane and his staff should be part of the investigation. After all Wane did say we will be fine once he gets players back, well he's s had them back for a while now and we are still distinctly average.

Watching this game now pretty much sums us up, huff and puff with little to no craft with the ball.

Usually I'm gutted to see the season end, this year I'm just bored stiff and feel indifferent about having no rugby to watch for close to 5 month, because I know when it does come back it most likely be more of the same dreary rugby we've been served for the last few years. Loyalty is the only thing keeping me interested at the moment, it's definitely not enjoyment.

I don't have a sack the coach mentality, what I do think is that it's just gone stale now, it happens in sport. Not many coaches last as long as as head coach as Wane has done. I just feel new ideas are needed, because this what we are watching now, what we've watched all year is a team very limited in ideas, the heart and talent, is there, we are just not performing and it's obvious it's not just a blip or loss of form.

Just watch the first halve and what a load of crap we have.

I think Lenagan is in a bit of a quandry here. I sense he'll be concerned as anyone but can you sack a coach who's won 5 trophies in 5 years? There would be a lot of external criticism if that decision was made.

But I think most would predict that the decline will continue until we start afresh.

Yes, you absolutely can.

Wane knows as well as anyone you can't trade on past glories alone. Injuries have undoubtedly been a factor in the mid-season, but the last 2 weeks have been alarming. The call IL needs to make is whether he thinks Wane can turn it around - if he doesn't, then there's only 1 decision he can make.

I agree with everything you put, just not good enough from the club and something needs to be done from the top to bottom.

Those players either do not want to play in this system or do not want to play for Wane. Either way there needs to be a coaching overhaul.

If he was replaced, it isn't a knee jerk reaction. It's a decision to move in a different direction, because clearly the wrestle and tattle em approach doesn't work. Everyone in the league, and I mean everyone plays more attractive rugby than we do. That's not a fluke, it's by design, Wanes low risk bash and smash style rugby is the root cause. It's not new anymore, it isn't working, thus it's time for new ideas.

The key to successful management at the very top is to make the necessary changes before it even starts to go wrong. We have now passed that point. Wane should have gone months ago, and if he hasn't gone by Monday morning, then there'll be a damn sight more criticism.

I don't think "useless" is the right word. As a previous poster said, 5 trophies in 5 years isn't that shabby (most of the others would bite your hand off for that record). But I do think he's now being exposed as out of depth. It only took Nobby a couple of seasons to be outdone by Smith. As much as I loath McDermott & his "big I am" bullying attitude, he's turned round Leeds from the abyss of last year (yes there were extenuating circumstances) & Powell and Radford have been a revelation. I sorry to say that Wane simply hasn't been inovative enough and we've been too relient on the likes of SOL and the (now plainly) vain hope that Tommy would return as good as good as was when he left.
New blood needed at all levels I think.

He got rid of Nobby when it became apparent we weren't going to win anything, even though there were plenty people criticising him that final season for 'keeping Nobby waiting' on his new contract.

It must be apparent now that it's over for SW. Nice chap though he is, something has gone fundamentally wrong this season, and although I'd get rid of several players at the first opportunity, the main buck has to stop with the man in charge of them.
