| As much as I love Wigan RLFC am I genuinely the only supporter who no longer enjoys watching this team?
I watch nearly all the other teams and only when they play us do I see them drawn into a dull 1 out snoozefest.
We have talent in this team but absolutely 0 direction.
Only when we look like losing do we start to play rugby.
For me we need a wholesale clear out of the coaching staff starting with Bitcon and finishing with Wane.
No team has been affected by injuries like us in 2 years and equally no team looks so lacking in any atacking ability and also defensively poor.
Time for a change for me.

| Warrington dominated the arm wrestle today, our forwards got dominated, another game goes by and Williams does nothing,Tommy gets pulled up all the time but Williams has been worse the last couple of months imo,Gelling was shocking again and doesn't look the same player as last year.
We deservedly got beat tonight but it was 100% a drop out before they scored and the pen on Bateman was harsh,Hiku pushed Bateman first.
Top 4 hopes gone now and unless we sort it out the challenge cup will be gone in 2 weeks time.

| Dominated in the forwards. Wigan made Simms look far harder than he is. Wire were actually pretty dire, which says a lot about Wigan really. YOu can laud them for their defense and I guess you can only play what's infront of you but Wigan hardly tested them.
Another point - 3 decisions went against Wigan - the supposed 20 metre tap, the tackle without the ball (both occurring at a time when Wigan were building pressure and lost it all) and the push to the face of Hiku (Whilst Bateman was going in to be a house he was pushed first) had a pretty big impact. One of those penalties lead directly to a Wire try. I know you shouldn't blame decisions and Wigan no doubt benefitted from some poor decisions but they were important in relieving the pressure Wire were under.

| On and off the field Wigan used to set standards.
We now drag teams down to our level, 1 out dull armwrestle.

| We looked so slow and lacking in energy is beggered belief really. Even Bateman who still kept going until the very end and threw himself about looked leggy and missed a tackle he'd usually gobble up on Julian for their first try. I felt for Marshall who looked like he'd lost momentum and confidence from his spell out the team.
The other props should have a whip round for Tony Clubb tonight and pay for a relaxing couple of days away for him after he tried to carry them on his back! He's had a kidney removed two months back and still played with more energy and desire then any of the others. After picking up the last two weeks Nuuausala hit rock bottom tonight.

| It was a poor performance without a doubt (Tony Clubb excepted whom I thought was superb).
I saw the game a little differently, I believe our problem, as it has been on many occasions was a lack of composure. Warrington, as many teams do, came with an obvious game plan of trying to unsettle us. Instead of just getting on with the game we fell for it hook, line and sinker and gave as much if not more than we got. We need to learn to just play the game, we needed to let Warrington give the penalties away and just concentrate on rugby. We didn't and it cost us.
For me, we didn't loose that game through a lack of skill or ability to attack and defend we lost that game because we weren't composed enough to win it.

| Bateman was going for the pat on the head wind up, bit harsh on the resulting penalty but if you're gonna be a dick, 5h1t can happen.
TBH, I'm not sure Hiku lost the ball anyway, so its a bit of swings and roundabouts.
The game was tight, that's about it, too much time spent wrestling and rolling about on the floor for it to be entertaining, but Wigin always looked like they had the win in them, till it was too late.

| Looked like less than 10.000 there for the big one that used to attract 20.000 plus.
Not surprising seeing the awful rugby from both teams.

| I counted eight penalties against us for lying down/interference at the play the ball. Sounds like it was us who went for spoiling tactics.
There's a reason the ground is a soul-less place to be and that's cause 3-4k regulars disappeared over the last two years (if not more), let's face it the club are doing a cracking job of massaging those attendances. I sit in the South Stand and it doesn't feel even half full.

| The only time I actually thought we might do something in attack was when Bateman or Lockers got the ball. Sam is a shadow of the player he was and I think he would be better suited to playing 6.

Watching rugby is a luxury in a competitive entertainment market. The way we play rugby is insanely dull.
At the moment I watch the team through a sense of loyalty, I don't look forward to the games, I don't enjoy the games and I don't enjoy the atmosphere in the ground.

| Did you have any patience to begin with Jon? You probably had this post typed up before kick off.
That was horrendous though, probably our worst performance since that infamous Widnes game last year, and the only shred of positivity I can take from tonight is that we recovered from that game to become Champions little over a month later, and while the Super League might be out of reach for this year we still have one trophy to play for and maybe tonight can be the catalyst to get us to Wembley.

Ive been in the sense of loyalty camp for about 3 years and tonight posted for the first time in weeks trying to pump myself up for the game because if I'm honest I wasn't really arrised about playing Wire when a few years back after Saints it was Wire who I wanted to beat the most.
I sit in the south stand and there is no atmospheres again tonight. Everyone trudged off tonight in silence I think stunned how awful that was.
I can excuse attacks breaking down due to good defence or just poor execution but I can't excuse lack of intensity or urgency. I have more urgency in me after a round of beans on toast followed by a few pints of Guinness than that team has at any point in any game.
Too many highly paid players incapable of playing 80 minutes is soul destroying to watch.

I agree. The (too many) injuries have been masking the problem with coaching and tactics. Even with the injuries we should have won some of the close games we lost or drew and would have with some tactical nouse. Which would have put us well up there with a top 4 chance which is a bit of an indictment on the competition itself but nevertheless just highlights how poor we have been not to take advantage.
We need a coach who doesn't have mates in the team and a coach who can set the tactics according to what he has available player-wise and adjust things for how the game is going. We can't even decide if we should take two points for a penalty.
As to an answer to your first question, no you are not the only one who no longer enjoys watching this team. It's a chore and if nothing changes in the off season then renewing the season ticket is going to be a long hard decision.

A game lasting an hour and 50 minutes with zero intensity is killing the love of my sporting life.
I've already decided that IF we beat Salford I won't be going to Wembley. I've been to every CC final since 1970 where we have participated but I have no intention whatsoever in going this year.
