Great news for Saints really. He's meant to be on a good whack and he's come nowhere near to justifying that.

They'll be able to look to spend it more wisely now both externally and by increasing the contracts of a couple of promising young players.

Bang on. to be fair to Lance HiHo he was never given a real run at 6 or 7 and when he was playing he was playing along side someone different each time who wasn't even an out and out 6/7

@Saints1890 player Lance Hohaia blames surprise retirement on "recurrent post match concussion type symptoms". Hohaia, 32, was punched twice by Wigan's Ben Flower in last year's Super League Grand Final. Flower recently returned after a 6-month ban.

Yeah it's hilarious when a player has to retire for reasons that are related to his health.

Sorry state of affairs all round that will only be amplified by the ridiculous comments from both sides that will inevitably follow.

Very true. Playing Rugby League is a short career and a player having to retire through any injury is a sad event. Let's hope the emotion behind the Flower/Hohaia incident and the subsequent consequences (or potential consequences) doesn't lead to fans manipulating a sad scenario to forward their own respective agendas.
