| Thought he was shocking last night some massive calls went in hudds favor. How on earth can Bateman be picked up without the ball and be dumped on his backside and no penalty given. And they scored of the following scrum!

| sean o'loughlin ball steal on leory cudjoe and the back to one call from ferris offload. no doubt about it we got some truly rough calls that dragged them back in to the game.

| Oh give over- how many forward passes from Williams? (Your own fans have commented on it-that first twenty minutes as like watching American football!) - also a forward pass for your first try- and you didn't get on side for most of the game- o'loughlin especially was shocking in that respect.
He was poor but I'd hardly say he was one sided.
Oh and don't get upset about a dummy falling for a dummy.

honestly there was 2. And not forgetting apparently a defender can now be impeded if they put them selves in the attacking line, there was nothing wrong with the powell try, not one wigan player moved of the mark.

| Thought he favoured Wigan more than the Giants, forward passes, wrestling at the play the ball, moving off the mark, couple of head tackles.
Ferres deserves a ban though for forcing Bowens neck backwards after the score....nasty one that.

Disgraceful performance from all three officials.

| I thought Thaler was poor in general but for both sides.
I agree the Powell try shouldn't have been disallowed but he also missed numerous forward passes from Wigan, including the opening try.
He was poor but he wasn't biased and he wasn't to blame for the defeat. Huddersfield were the better side and deserved to win, their pack in particular was well on top. Sometimes you just have to accept that and move on.

Dumped on his backside? I think you need to watch that one again. Yes Ferres picked him up off the ball but he pretty much placed him down!

| The officials were poor, true, but we were still the second best side out there, overall - too many players with one eye on next week's game, I feel. Not too worried, though, it's unrealistic to expect them to get fired up for every single game, especially the relatively meaningless ones.

| I must say first that the best team overall won, but the first turning point for me was the knock-on that never was, how come the officials didn’t changed their minds about that one when they did about the linesman’s decision when he first gave Brough’s kick for touch as out? All one would ask for is a bit of consistency.

| The officials helped them back into the game but they were the better side for ages after that. I know decisions change games but we had plenty of time to put it right and we just didn't play well enough.
Ignoring the video replay for one thing but having a sneaky look on others is out of order as well. All we want is consistency.
Just one of them to forget for us, you cant win them all especially with a patched up team.

You were second best, but it's only two points and you have a much more important game next week so stop booing. There was something wrong with the Powell try, which is why it wasn't given- Oloughlin was stood in the giants defensive line- which was almost the most on side he was all game

Agree with all of that.
He gave a few questionable decisions but it's how you react to them, Wigan being soft defensively and conceding tries directly after the decisions is what cost you more than the referee.

Huddersfield had the far stronger bench and that really told in the end.

That was very important, we had Taylor on the bench who is quality but after that it was Burke who's been out injured, James who I don't really know what he offers and seems way off the pace, and Hampshire who tbh was a bit of a luxury to have on the bench in a game like that, we'd have probably been better off going with 4 forwards and having someone like Sutton there instead.

I thought Burke went pretty well and was glad to see him back. I agree about James though, he looks like an old bloke who's been drafted in to the team at the last minute because half of the team have broke down in their minibus on the motorway. He's got a big heart but his legs just haven't got the energy to do the things he needs to.
Talk of his deal being extended in to next year simply can't be true. He came as a coach and that's what he should be doing.

| I'm suprised no one has yet mentioned Crabtree's elbow. It was a pretty nasty one. Straight contact with the head and his left arm not the right which was carrying the ball. Should get a match or two IMO.

| Some very bad calls last night and most annyingly the lack of consistancy, if the video ref is going to be used it should be all decisions where the ref is unsighted. Not the laughable knock or the no try for obstruction when O'loughlin didn't even move from the PTB.
ferres in particular was being a dirty sod last night though, trying to pull Bowens head off after he scored and maliciously taking out Bateman when he didn't have the ball simply wasn't needed. That and crabtree running elbow first.
Overall the ref turned the game and hudds took full advantage; it wasn't the refs fault we kept dropping the ball.

Did anyone notice him for Wardle's try? He was still behind the play 2 tackles after the initial break! Unless I missed him receiving treatment or whatever, that is poor.

| The referee did make some mistakes but i think there's being a lot made of them because we failed to defend the subsequent sets. We can't control what Thaler does but we can control how we defend and we let them in immediately after they got the ball. For me it's just that we weren't on our game because everyone's looking at the cup game next week and we've had a run of tough games. Look at how many consecutive sets we defended at Magic, we can defend our line we just didn't in this game. The fact that they were more up for it and stacked their bench were more of a reason for the swing in score for me.
On the obstruction for the Powell try I don't think it matters that O'Loughlin didn't move. He's stood ahead of the ball and gets in between the ball carrier and the defence. That was more of an obstruction than the ones against Salford for me, they were all technical inside/outside shoulder, which side of the dummy runner does the attacker catch the ball interpretation decisions.
