Watching Pat Richard's score the final and match winning try on Saturday I really thought the try had been disallowed and Pat had been brought back for some infringement.
I can't remember ever seeing an important try being scored in such a relaxed and casual manner, at that point there were still seven minutes to go and Warrington still in the game, but Pat's try killed all hopes. Then to kick the touchline goal just put the icing on the cake.
What a fitting climax to his brilliant Wigan career, Thanks Pat you will go down in Wigan folklore.

It reminded me of one that Henderson Gill scored (ironically v Wire) from a Brett Kenny pass at Central Park. Just as on Saturday Gill collected the pass and walked over the line without a finger being laid on him

I actually had my head in my hands and was telling people to stop cheering as it had been disallowed. Felt a right fool when I looked again and saw the players dancing about! Ha!!!

I assumed it had been pulled for a forward pass. Could not believe it when the ref pointed to the spot.

Same as for me, thought it was a forward pass. I didn't really celebrate even when I realised preferring to just take in the moment of realisation that we had won the double.

It was a fabulous moment.

No doubt about that. His best days have been at Wigan and whilst he's not the player he was he's still worth a raft of points to us.

It's probably more emotional to see him leave then Tomkins in a lot of ways. He's been playing for the first team longer, had a stinker of a first year here but came out the other side to become one of the fans favourite ever overseas players and seems a really top bloke. He even found time on Saturday in his post match interview to thank all superleague fans (not just Wigan) for making his time so special.

I do feel the time is probably right though.

Either he's a strange, strange man or he's trying to convey that he thinks it's all a conspiracy and his team have been set up by the officials. Ian Millward used to do it too.

Agree about the Richards try - I thought the whistle had gone.

I can't think of one unsavoury incident in all his time here, never one to start / attract trouble, was hard but fair. A genuinely nice bloke on and off the field, he even had time to give Monaghan a tap on the shoulder just prior to him being stretchered off. From reading these forums he's one of the very few Wigan players that opposition supporters like and respect.

I too thought it was forward - don't know why as I was at the other side of the ground. Think it was the way all the Wire players just stopped.
