Im quite sure everybody appreciates the new relationship with you guys as it can only be a good thing with the great amatuer talent around this borough but does Sean Wane actually take this annual fixture seriously??

What was gained by your young/fringe/squad players today?? dominated all over the park and made to look woeful at times. These young guys are clearly decent players in the making but are they thrown to the lions year in year out against a very experienced allbeit inferior/seasoned Leigh team?

Do you think you should be fielding a stronger team and making the game more of a spectacle? granted if you fielded your first 13 the scores would have been undoubtedly reversed but would it have been a good local derby and a nice warm up for your first team? would it have been more use than today?

Genuine post as i think an annual Wigan V Leigh derby with strong line ups would do both teams a world of good.

I agree that it should have been a stronger Wigan 17 or however many but not our full first team even had we played some first teamers the international players were never going to play today but not our best 13 against your best 13 as it would have been score line reversed and then some as our best 13 even losing the players we have this season would have put 50 or 60 on Leigh today as Leigh should have done so against our reserves. I've heard we asked for the game to be marketed as Leigh vs Wigan Reserves which Leigh apparently refused I personally think that's poor from both sides as I can't understand why Wigan arrange 4 friendlies and only use 3 of them and poor from Leigh to charge £13 for a game against a reserve side.

No your fringe players wouldve put at least 80 past Leigh....I can understand your whinge at having to pay £13 but maybe direct that towards Wane?

It should be directed at both clubs as like I said in my previous post Wigan wanted the game marketed as Leigh vs Wigan reserves and thus charge accordingly which Leigh refused but its just as poor for Wigan to arrange 4 friendlies and only take 3 seriously.

Why direct it to Shaun wane? Leigh knew they were playing a reserve side and Leigh set the price for the game.

Before I make the comment that I wanted to, can I just say that the Wigan team are all full time proffesional where as the Leigh team are all part time. Having said that I would like to say that both teams conducted themselves impeccably today and are a credit to their clubs. I would have thought your reserve side would have given us a better test but putting your first 18 against us would have been a very hard game for us. A game that we don't really need pre-season. I would like to meet you in the CC when we are a bit more battle hardend. Then send you home crying in your pies.

Considering 2 of our next 3 games are against the 2 teams we play 1st in the league I wouldn't expect them to be taken too seriously either. Possibly the Salford game but not Wire, not much point going full strength against them in preseason then again 2 weeks later in the league. I'd go full strength vs Hull KR then field two mixed teams vs Salford and Wire.

If that was or is going to be the case then why arrange friendlies at all if all we are likely to do is play majority of our reserves if Green & Smith don't play in all of our 3 remaining friendlies then what chance do we stand in the league this season we already know it will probably take till 2014 to see the very best of Smith & Green together with the exception of some games this season so if the likes of Richards, Tuson, Prescott, Lauaki, Farrell, Hughes etc don't play the majority of those 3 remaking friendlies then why arrange them at all why not going into the new season cold with little or no game time.

The clubs have been talking about this game for weeks, and Wigan were attempting to field a side that would make the game competitive. If you had fielded your first choice line-up, it would have been a mis-match but I think you selected just too many youngsters and your more experienced players seemed to struggle.

As for us, we had to field our strongest 22, because they are our only 22! Having had Salford back out last week, we only have one more warm-up game scheduled, so we had to treat it as a 'first team' fixture which, according to your website, was what you were treating it as.

Anyway, thanks to the good following who turned up from Wigan, and helped to provide a decent 'gate'.

Because the U19's season is in unison with the first team and they too need pre-season games. As far as I'm aware they only have one other pre-season game, v Leeds on Monday week.

I'd rather them go Aus and play 2-3 games there than play games here that are then repeated in the 1st rounds of the season. I've decided not to go the Salford preseason as I'm paying for a game I'll be seeing again 2 weeks later and as of yet I am undecided on going Westwoods testimonial. Now some might say I'm not a real fan because of this but I'd rather not be able to see them atall in pre-season than watch us play the same teams over and over again.

Wane has stated all along that the team would be made up of fringe first team players and academy players, and I don't have a problem with that. I enjoyed my day out.

Well I've got to say that if that's your 'future' you should be seriously worried. Your lads seriously lacked any passion and seemed to have very few ideas. I was very disappointed with your youngsters so I can't imagine how you lot must be feeling.

I payed £8-00 (EIGHT POUNDS) for the west stand,worth every penny.

Maybe our young lads should have played your young lads then for a fairer game? Not too worried about the future,some of our young lads were on show today quite a few teams don't have the luxury of having a"future"

Listen to everyone arguing about bluddy gate fees, does it really matter???? Im a Warrior and it was a friendly game, real rugby fans should just be happy to see some good plays and big tackles in the game, my opinion is i would have liked wigan to have been more organised however they wasnt, no problems! but i enjoyed watching Leigh play some enjoyable rugby league, couldnt care less about the result it's irrelevant!

Aren't they're supposed to be professional full time players? They've had the best start to their career that any kid could hope for but they didn't really seem to care, or have much idea, about the game in hand - that's my point.

BTW even though I'm a Leyther, I'm not a Wigan hater and I'm really glad that our clubs have formed a partnership. I was merely pointing out the impression I took from today's game.

The relationship between Wigan and Leigh is first class and both sets of fans should recognise this fact and stop living in the past

Yeh i dont quite understand the hatred of Wigan the Leigh fans express during these local derbys, afterall most of the leigh team is full of Wiganer's and i think were quite generous loaning you our players ETC.. I for one dont hate Leigh i think youve got a decent little setup of players very good facilities and stadium decent prices on the Jackbit and Beer, this being said you wouldnt hear me ever saying the same about stains maybe Leigh could join us in unison and both have hatred for Stains and their supporters, spread the word! I would love to see leigh in super league dont have a problem with it at all there more rugby mentality in Leigh than that of London Broncos or Salford!
