From Wigan regarding next years over 19's players.

Why have we had no official announcements from the RFL regarding these proposed changes to the age groups ?

Why don't they just make the announcement now instead of announcing that there is going to be a big announcement...

Is it "They are currently over 18"?

I hate it when clubs do this. I'd sooner they made an announcement about the announcement that's there's going to be a big announcement before the actual announcement so we could then ignore the announcement about the big announcement and just wait for the official announcement but then again Wigan just never seem to make the first announcement about anything when there's been other announcements on various other websites which just leaves the Wigan announcement completely ineffective as a announcement because the announcement in which they've made has already been announced on another website, in which case... I think Wigan would be right to announce there's going to be a big announcement about an actual announcement so then any pre-emptive announcement from another website would be rendered old news because we've already been prompted about the fact Wigan will announce there's going to be a big announcement about an actual announcement which would also allow us to ignore the announcement about a big announcement being made and would solve this problem.

Is this a rumour? I heard a rumour that there was going to be an announcement. Or was it an announcement the there was going to be an official rumour. Either way this announcement of a future announcement is a rumour.

Excuse my ignorance if i have missed something but that would bea great deal if they could get game time.

My mates brother (Greg Burke), Sometimes has to go down to South Wales at a moments notice and that cannot be ideal for his preparation for a game. Can't get much down time or warm up time when he get's there. He could drive to Leigh in half hour as could the rest of the lads. If this Leigh thing is the case then it can only be a good thing for both clubs and players. I am hoping he is in the first team for next season though as i have promised his brother i will have his name printed on my jersey when he scores his first 1st team try.

We are going to join Championship Div 1 in our own right, thus negating the need to send players on dual regs anywhere. I've thought that this would be a great way forward for us for quite a while now, combine this with the added bonus of generating an extra income out of Orrell and it makes good economic sense as well.

That would be rather good, it certainly happens in other sports.

I know it happens in Spanish football with the likes of Barcelona B and it was suggested big premier league clubs adapt such a set up with their promising youngsters and high quality reserves. I certainly think it would work and be a great platform to further develop our academy players.

I think one clubs B team was denied promotion to Serie a last season...
