I was praying for Leigh away. As soon as I realised we had saints I wanted them away from home.

We need to start winning big games at home. Lets hope a huge crowd turn out for this unmissable tie.

I'm happy with the home tie tbh. We may have a great away record but the amount of away ties we've had in the last ten years has been unbelievable.

Tough game for sure but one to really look forward to. I'd guess the crowd may nor be the best mind.

Friday night would be best IMO.

Dont Latics play Sunday so no game day before especially if its a must win for Latics

Your right I think, Latics v Wolves on Sunday the 13th, if the 24 hour rule is enforced, then that probably leaves Friday night as the only option.

It should be Friday night and then there's no issue at all - but the comment made on radio after the draw was that BBC would 'almost certainly' pick it to show, and their slots are on Saturday and Sunday. That was opinion in the studio rather than anything official, obviously, but if BBC have first refusal then you'd expect them to choose tie of the round.

if we can't play at home then let's hope we that we choose the Halliwell as it's a better stadium than the screwfix...or even help the Bulls out and take it to Odsal with a proviso that they get some of the revenue and not their landlords the RFL

Will be a test of Mr. Whelan's 'Wigan fan' credentials. Can't think of a single reason why they couldn't play both fixtures the same weekend. Any staff worth their salt can turn the stadium around in 24 hours, especially as there doesn't seem to be an issue with the pitch this year.

All 4 games are on TV. 2 on BBC & 2 on Sky

It's not Whelan's fault though if the Premier League rules say the rugby can't play on Saturday.

The Latics game will kick off at 3pm on Sunday - BBC have a slot with a 2.30pm kick off on Saturday; to my mind, there's no reason that couldn't work out fine. Has it ever been confirmed that there's a cast-iron Premier League rule in place on us playing the day before the football, or is it more a case of not being able to turn the stadium around between an 8pm Friday and a 3pm Saturday game?

If the match is moved to Friday on Sky then that would be a real shame.

There is no Premier League rule. The rules simply say the football team has priority, but that refers only to the match day itself. It's Dave Whelan who decides and I'm pretty sure he cites the difficulty in turning the stadium round in such a short space of time as the reason.

You can see his point of course; it's a heavy looking stadium, I doubt it could rotate very easily.

I think it's pretty vague, but I could be wrong. We'll need to wait and see.

Would the BBC go Wire/Catalan on Sat & Hudds/London on the Sun, leaving Sky Wigan/Saints on Fri & Leigh/Leeds on the Sun?

Would remove all problems, and tbh, makes the most sense, given our potentially awkward stadium situation.

I can see us having some issues here which isn't good. I'd love the game to be on BBC but that won't be the case on the Friday and if they pick it I can see us having to go to a nuetral venue that does nothing for the image of the sport.

On the playing side of things what a great chance to end Saints run of getting to semi finals! They'll be hard to beat but then so will we.

I'd like to think so, but I can't see the BBC giving up easily on our game.

I get the feeling this will drag on a bit, as the BBC will stamp their feet.
