| So do i, i am totally disgusted to think that my club could do that today against another professional outfit and expect to get away with it, and also take the out of the travelling support

| I agree - although its important to remember it was only O'Loughlin and Tomkins who were actually rested. And I anticipate Wane will say they had knocks in the post match interview.

| Giving youngsters a game is fine. Targeting opposition that haven't yet won in the league for introducing youngsters is fine. Choosing a side made up of first-team squad members is also fine, and shouldn't incur any penalty from the RFL.
If not forced into it by injury, then leaving out two of your three most potent playmakers (Leuluai, Sam), the captain and on-field core of the defensive line (O'Loughlin), your trusted pressure place-kicker (Pat), all at the same time to introduce those youngsters is always risky, and was clearly a misjudgement today.
Really, the upshot of that game is that it's two 'safe' points lost, and a bitter lesson regarding team selection. I'd be amazed if SW makes the same mistake again. Those two points may not matter come the end of the season, but I reckon everyone would rather have them than not.

| Poor performance against Huddersfield, we work hard to put it right against the likes of Leeds and Catalans and then chuck away a chance to hit top spot by showing utter disrespect to Widnes ... totally
I hope that Wane puts his hand up for this defeat, I'm fine with a couple of changes to give youngsters a chance and rest first choice players but to change most of the players in major team positions was ridiculous. All it does is disrupt the team.
Not good enough.

| Wane must shoulder the blame even though ultimately it was a total lack of composure when in winning positions that cost us. I honestly believe that with just one of Sam, Leuluai or Lockers in that side we'd have taken the game comfortably but it wasn't to be.
In the main the youngsters actually played well. Matty Russell will be a sensation and Steffan Marsh showed real quality today (sadly for the wrong side).
There were actually some positives today as crazy as the selections, match and result was.

Probably nothing - ask Leeds how much a defeat in March counts when October comes round.

| Todays result is totally irrelevant to our season.
You may not like that but the structure of the competition means the weekly rounds count for very little.
Wigan will be in the playoffs.

| lets not forget we we had our top try scorer, first choice stand off and our best prop out injured. But obvioulsy the only reason we won is because pat richards and sam tomkins didnt play. it could also be true that you lot would have lost by 30 points if we had put out a full team, its only our injuries that saved you from a real hammering. same logic. deal with it. we beat you fair and square.

| No disrespect at all. The team was more than capable of winning the game and should have won. They were good enough to get an 18 point lead and it's entirely their fault that the discipline was appalling and allowed Widnes to get back into it.
Almost every single one of their tries came from back to back penalties where we allowed them up the field, while there was also a fortunate try where Goulding was knocked out in the build up.
Yes a stronger team would have won but as Wane said after the match he has to test the youngsters and see where they are at and how much they need to improve.
We'll take far more out of this game than if we had battered Widnes with a full strength side. And credit must go to Widnes because they really played their hearts out.

Agreed, although I think 4 debuts was a bit much for one match, especially when you add Hughes and Spencer in as more or less new players. And the injuries during the match took their toll. And despite this, we only lost by a point. Shame we aren't top, but it made for a better game than if we'd actually put out anything close to a normal team.
