We've just had hail here in Billinge and it's froze onto the ground. Heavy snow is forecast for later and it will stick.
I guess the pitch will be ok but the surrounding areas, car parks etc maybe too dangerous.

We have had about one and an half inch of snow here in Atherton,it stopped about 2pm.

Plenty of ice and slush in Wigan....then as soon as I got in to Leigh it's about an inch thick. Very weird. I'm sure the gritters will be out in force though around the DW tonight.

It'll be fine. Just been at the Latics game (don't judge, it was a free ticket) and it was just wet and extremely cold. Surrounding area was slushy more than slippy to be honest. Barring any really heavy snowfall over night we'll be reyt.
Even then, they're playing at Salford now and the snow is quite heavy, so I wouldn't fret at all.

Just been out with the dog and what's left of the slushy snow is melting fast and it's forecast NO frost tonight plus a high of six degrees celsius tomorrow so it's all systems go !!

The Wigan area seems to have got off quite lightly. I'm in Bury, and it snowed yesterday from about 12 noon until about 7.45pm....mainly quite light, but heavy at times. Quite a lot of public transport has been disrupted, but luckily, not the Metrolink/Trains.
I reckon there's about 3 1/2 inches of snow here, doesn't seem to be freezing at the mo.
