| Sam is 8/1 favourite and who would bet against him at this stage?
Although Locky is really good value @ 20/1.
Get in there, but as they say in the NRL, "bet responsibly".

| We had a thread on this before the semi and I said the player that bossed that out of Roby and Sam would win it.
It's a no brainer now especially after Sam putting another 4 trys on the board yesterday.
The best player in superleague by a distance.

You`re right - it`s currently Sam by a mile but Roby is playing well and his odds at present are 14/1.

| I wouldn't be surprised if Roby gets it. His season is reminding me very much of Fazs in 2004 (I think) when he last won the MOS. Where he is almost single handedly making a team.

| I'd say Rangi Chase is a reasonable shout too.
They might go down the old ''give it to a small club's player'' route.

| Sam Tomkins has gone onto another level is recent weeks, i reckon he's got the MOS sewn up easily, betting on any other player now, no matter what odds they have would be pretty pointless.

| The MOS was nailed on for Roby if you listen to Stevo. Monaghan is a strong contender. Cas have had their good run and that will have put paid to Chase winning it. Tomkins is in the best form of the contenders so should be the favourite.

| There was a very strong argument for Roby a month or so ago (there still is, he's a machine) but Sam's performances in the big games should swing it for him (even though a couple of those were in the cup and allegedly don't count).
He is the best player in SL and does it time and agains when it matters.
Roby would be a worthy winner, but Sam is out in front IMO.

| It has to be Sams, he has been immense. Watching him yesterday was like the old playstation games played on schoolboy level where the opposition didnt know how to tackle - and salford werent even that bad! Some things he does are unreal. The match yesterday sums it up for me. For 79 minutes it was a dull walkover game and the crowd sounded like we were all just having a picnic then Sam scored that last try and literally everyone was up on their feet for the first time. And he does that every single week.

Me too! 8-1 is absolutley huge at this stage. No bookie is that stupid surely? If they are its time to get the wheel barrow out of the shed.

| I'm very much of the opinion that the MOS title is decided in the last ten weeks of the season. Sam has been the best player towards the latter part of the season without doubt IMO, and as FTV say's he stood up to be counted in the big game's on TV. For me that's huge, everyone including all the players who vote watch the TV games.
I'm I correct in thinking that the vote for the MOS title is taken before the play-off's begin?

| Roby's had a fantastic season and has been almost Farrell-esque in carrying his side. He should never have won in the year he beat TB to the award but maybe the rugby gods were being kind to him because even though he's had a truly great season and one which normally would have easily ensured a MoS award, Tomkins has moved up to a different level and there is no way on earth Roby should win this time.
Has anyone in British RL in the SL era played better than Sam is playing now? Has anyone in British RL in the modern era - for me there's only Hanley left now as a comparator for this lad. Sam may not have yet reached the heights of the great man at his glorious best, but Sam is not at his peak, he's still learning and developing. His potential is incredible. How good will he turn out to be? I can't wait to find out over the next few years. What a special player this lad is and how lucky Wigan fans are to have him in the side.
Sam Tomkins for MoS

| I must admit Roby has been tremendous this season, however Sam is the most destructive player i have seen in my time watching the game.
It is almost like schoolboy rugby where the best player gets the ball and runs through everybody with ease. Incredible runner and an incredible talent. Wish he played for somebody else !
