Although it is early in the season I'm beginning to think he is now a key cog in our well oiled machine. A tough tackler with a great work ethic and good discipline.

Any chance he will get a new contract? Would hate for him to go to another SL team and tear us apart!!

He's been superb for me, and I can only imagine that has he further settles in and the team begin to play better, we'll see him improve no end. It's players like him that do the gritty hard work that allows others to do the fancy stuff.

he'll never go to another SL team if he doesnt take his second year option at Wigan he'll return to Melbourne. He's in their team of the century and out of the 3 we signed from them I'd say Hoffman is the one they will miss the most and would want back.

He's definitely our best signing over the past few years.

Trent and Carmont are miles ahead of him upto now.

He has played State of Origin and was one of the best second rowers in Aus for two years while playing for the best team around at the time. I expected nothing less. He has been quality so far. He does what Bryan Fletcher used to do for us so well.

Very good player but for some reason I ve got a feeling were just minding him for the season un-till the storm have sorted there money but I hope we do manage keep him

he'll deffo go back to the storm one day itll be whether he fancies a second year in the superleague that'll stop him goin back to storm end of the season. I wouldnt expect to see him here any longer than 2 years. He's young enough to go back after 2 years and get back in origin and test contention.

Thats a big statement, for a player who has only played a handful of games. For mine

were /are all pretty good signings and have proven themsleves over at least 1 full season. I expect Hoffman will prove to be ranked amongst those in time.

(ps I deliberately did not include the likes of Netwon, Smith (Craig), Lam etc who were perhaps a few years ago but not that long).

Paat is the best overseas signing we have had in recent years IMO. Carmont, Fletcher, Dallas etc are all ahead of Barrett.

I genuinely don't get the love in surrounding Pat. He's a good kicker and he's consistent. I can't remember him taking a game by the scruff of the neck and winning it for us like Farrell, Sam, Barrett, Newton, Lam, Paul, Gregory....

Don't get me wrong, he's a good player but he's a winger. Probably one of the top ones in SL but a winger none the less and one that wouldn't get a game in Origin.

I think people forget aswell barrett did loads of work with sam when he was here and it would have had a massive role to play in how sam plays
