Pleased for him he will soon become a favourite there, I knew a few dont rate him on here but he did some special things with the ball at fullback IMO

I have always quite liked Phelps and found him to be very underrated by the club and fans. He played a big part at the start of last season to get the ball rolling and put him some great performances. Its a pity he got injured and never found that form again for us.

Not that long ago we were signing average aussies and letting average potentially good british players leave. This is proof that we are no longer that club.

Phelps is a good example why the club simply cannot get anything wrong at the moment. He is a decent addition to any squad, a quality player on his day and links into a team well BUT...with the salary cap / quota restraints a club like ours with excellent youth coming through cannot justify keeping a "decent" quota player like Cameron Phelps on its books when we have potential british superstars within the youth setup.

Glad he has found a club because he too good not to have one, more importantly I am delighted with how Wigan is being run at the moment.

and yes he is better than Jordan Tansey!

Could be a stand out player for you this season, think he'll want to prove he belongs in Super League. He's talented imo but not as talented as Sam Pat or Amos.

Definitely a good signing for Hull was hoping this might happen after Tansey got binned as Phelps seems a top chap. I predict he'll become a fans favorite at Hull as soon as he finds his feet. He never shys away from hard work or big collision and if playing in the right system he can be a really effective attacking weapon from full back with good ball handling skills and short kicking game from his time playing at 6 back in Aus.

As has been said , good signing for Hull . I always liked him and thought he gave 100% every time he took to the field. Also glad he has found a decent club to play for.

Gives 100% but I think people have a bit of a rosey eyed view of his abilities - because he gives 100%.

He didn't figure much last season after getting injured early on (and didn't do a great deal before that either) and he does get injured quite a bit due to the over committed way he goes into tackles. He is definitely a player who survives on effort over ability and the effort he puts in is IMO why fans tend to like him and perhaps why his faults tend to be overlooked.

Will be interesting to see how he goes at Hull.

Decent squad player but not a stand-out in any one position, versatile and likeable. Slightly iffy tackling technique that oft renders him seeing stars but that's one of his quirks.

Sad to see him go but quotas are such that we can't afford such luxuries. Best of luck Cam, hope you do well.

Delighted for him, always rated him and I'm sure he can do a job for Hull, he was unlucky here that Pat and Amos can do such a good job at fullback despite not being first choice there.

If anyone wants to question his abilities have a look at some of the passes and kicks he put through close to the line at the beggining of the season, class.

Suspect under a high ball and misses tackles but has bucketloads of enthusiasm.

He's a great utility player, with his ability to play anywhere in the back line, but would never be first choice for us in any one position, and is wasted in the reserves.

Glad to see he's found somewhere.

I'm happy for him! Can't believe it's taken him this long to find a team. Glad he's found a top SL one.
