IL's remarks about the club now being in profit was very good news especially when the Grand Final Trophy and the League Leaders Shield were on the table behind him.
A sporting club winning trophies and being in profit that's the best of all worlds.

John Kear's by a mile, but a follow up could be Sinfield's to Silverwood in our semi-final, I think it was JJB sacasticly clapping a decision of the ref when Sinfield said to Silverwood " but's that what we do at Leeds " or words to that effect and Silverwood replied " don't try and take the micky out of me " or something very similar.

In fairness i think he or she was right. I described the first 20 minutes of that friendly as ""absolute s***e" and I can't get away from it because its all in writing.

The most amazing thing about that comment, which at the time I thought was a stupid reaction by one of the (then) most respected coaches in the game, is Wakefield's record before and after that.

Up to that game they had won 6 lost 3, after they won 3 lost 15.

Let's not forget that the game he is referring to featured two of the best tries I have seen, by Roberts and Joel.
A classic case of shoting yourself in the mouth, which he bizzarely tried to justify with a blatantly one sided commentary on national tv in the Leeds cup QF match.

I know its not our fault his team where pap! Joel's try was awesome and I recall saying at the time it would be a contender for try of the season, (I said a little more) however instead attention was drawn to our "negative" play.
