I can see Deacon getting in due to the number of halfback injuries.

Would be very surprised myself if this happened. He is ok for our team due to the fact that we have such a young team otherwise but England, just dont think so.

Deacon could move England around the park as well as anyone and is a good shout.

Congratulations to those 5 and in particular Goulding on getting called up for the first time. I am surprised though that we only have 5 in the squad after the season we have had and I can only imagine that Gleesons past has counted him out because his form certainly warrants him being called up. I am also very surprised to see 6 Huddersfield players in the squad.

i seriously dont get the hype of Widdop. it seems because he is with a club in the NRL people think he should be englands number 1 IMO he hasnt played enough games and isnt proven at the top level.

but who else can we put at full back? Tomkins is the only other alternative, but we're down to bare bones at 6, Widdop might not have much first team experience, but he's the best option at 1 we have right now in these circumstances, he'll do fine at FB for England

With the state of the halves, I'd be amazed if Sam played at FB.

Sam wont play full-back. Although it is interesting to note that Widdop is readying to step into stand-off at the Storm next year if my memory serves correctly. Perhaps some alternating between the two?
