| On that performance yesterday I think hes confirmed my opinion that he should be rewarded with a new deal (albeit on reduced terms). I think he had a blinder, looked a handful all game with his carries, even breaking the line at one point, must of been up there with top tackles cos he worked his socks off. I was also encouraged by his reaction when KFC (who is a dirty get and needs teaching a lesson sooner or later) pushed out at him, he didnt shy away and give it back. I honestly think Stu has been our top prop this season and on that form is well deserving of a new contract.

| We MUST try and resign him, but only if he takes a HUGE CUT in wages.

| Agree, on that form and his performances this season it would be a mistake to not offer him a new deal.

| I agree, was one of Fielden's best games yesterday and he has been doing that for most of this season. I think he will get another 2 year deal at the end of this year and he will be happy to have a reduced wage.

| Another thing yesterday, I thought Prescott had a very good game too. Usually I see him as a player thats just solid and nothing special and couldnt see him staying on at Wigan after his contract is up.
It all depends if MaGuire wants this enforcer prop from Aus or if we are going to stick with what we have got.

I have no doubt one prop will leave with one coming in. I have no idea who either will be.

| I feel that was the last we have seen of Feka yesterday, when everyone is back fit he wont get a game. Shame really but aslong as he doesnt go to another Super League club I wont mind.

| I've just said in the signings thread we need to keep Coley and Fielden. But when those two come off our intensity both in attack and defence drops imo.
Feka should definately go.
I wouldn't miss either Prescott or O'Carroll, if I had to keep one it'd be Prescott.
I'd like to see a top class aussie prop coming in, with Ben Davies being bumped up to 5th choice prop.

| IMO Feka and Bailey should go for cap space as they do not offer back on the field what we pay them.
This allows 2 quality players to come in.
Finch and a prop IMO as our backrow is the strongest in the league especially when Hock comes back next year.

Add Phelps, Deacon and one of O'Carroll or Prescott and there's enough money to get another top prop in. If we improve the front row then we could add that to (arguably) the best back row in the league, plus one of the best set of backs.

| Definitely one of the key players at Wigan who because of all the negative criticism in the past doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Yes ANOTHER one.
I'd like too see him get a two year deal, obviously on the right salary.

| Hello everyone im fairly new to these boards, and a recent league convert. Just on the topic of bringing in an enforcer type prop from overseas does anybody have any ideas of which players are out of contract at the end of the season?
Or where I can find a list of these players?
Thanks.

| Besides Madge. I think one of the reasons we are doing so much better this season is that for the first time in ages we have had a settled squad and that has helped us to bring in the young players. I think Fieldon should be retained for another 2years. He must know himself that he will have to take a huge drop in pay, he wont expect to get the same as he does now , and also he will know that he could not get that wage at any other club. This season he seems to be really happy at where he is and he is always one of the first players to come across to the fans at the end.

| In todays League Express it says Frank Endecott and Peter brown are in the UK at the moment offering top star players from down under to SL clubs. They are meeting Wigan Warriors officials today.

They were at the game yesterday and also at Orrell on Saturday for the U20's game.

| I think most people would acknowledge that Fielden has played well this season and that he should be re-signed, if possible, at the right price. The key question though is how much people would be prepared to pay him and if he would even stay for that amount. We desperately need another top quality prop, I would even like to see 2 if Feka goes, and it all depends on how the salary cap can be managed and how Fielden fits into that.

| all the rumours this side of the penines claim feilden is a done deal for hull fc....
reading this thread indicates that he has had a good solid season....one of which puts to bed the claim that he is finished...seeing as you see him week-in week-out..
any truth in the rumour or is it wishful thinking on the part of the black and white faithful?

Hes had a solid season, our second best prop IMO
All i know is that maguire rates Fielden highly.
He might want a fresh start in hull though with the stick he has taken from fans for a number of years at wigan, i have some idiot sat near me at the DW who is always shouting 'get off fielden your useless!' or something similar

safe to say he's better than cusack radford and dowes....certainly cusack, he is painful to watch at times....hopefully if we could land him, he would add to our half-decent pack with moa, o'meley at props along with dowes..plus he's english!!!!

| Fieldens yardage, enthusiasm, speed of play the ball, nuisance value and stamina alone should see him earn a new deal not least a shoe in for the England team despite the eternal s referring to the Tri-Nations incident. We've all slept since then...whilst he has clearly woken up.

I wouldnt put him above Peacock, Graham, Morley Carvell TBH
Coley should get a shout before Fielden IMO, hes been our standout prop this season

Carvell? Fielden by plenty.
Whilst Coley has improved significantly under Maguire, at international level his likeness of conceding penalties and making errors in key positions would drop him behind Fielden for mine. Lynch, Bailey or Ben Harrison would be my pick before Coley.
