| Having just watched then sky+ replay I think, had he stayed on could have won the game for us.
One chance where Carmont was just stopped and the one where Foster took the high ball. I reckon Pryce would have had both.
Great game though, even better watching the replay than at the game.
No excuses about the ref, he had a decent game, maybe the Leon Pryce penalty that put Saints in position for the Welens try, but it started from Piggys forward pass.

| Pryce was going well and certainly looked our best chance of scoring.
Im still suspicious of Bentham, the way he call's things and his inconsistency within games. Im quite sure the count will be almost even, but for me there is just something about him that makes me uneasy.

We missed an O'Loughlin or Phelps who can throw that cut out ball at speed.

I was very surprised we went to Amos Roberts side for the first half hour.

| I think people need to be a bit more realistic about what Pryce offers to the team.
From about 10m out he backs himself to score and he more often than not does given a decent pass. He also can score some tries that need scoring from that distance.
The rest of the time? Not convinced.
For a big lad he makes few meters when taking the ball out of defence. He goes down really easily. As a winger I just can't see him scoring a try longer than the previously mentioned 10m.
I would like him to be the winger he's supposed to be but for me he just does not offer enough.

| im getting sick of hearing the same thing and telling people the same thing about this useless player, he offers nothing, he does nothing, he doesnt look part of the team, everyone has told me to give him a chance, yeah he deserves a chance but for me a player who gets the first little strain or injury hes straight off the field, lets be honest he doesnt wanna be out there when it gets rough and tough. ok hes scored i dunno say 10 tries in 8 games or whatever it is, so did ainscough but look at where he is, in the same place pryce should be in the reserves

| i cant make my mind up about him. Sometimes he looks good but most he seems to look like he gives up/collapses into the opposing player and goes all floppy. He has the attributes to be devastating but it doesnt seem to be 100 percent there
i dont want this to turn into a slagging off thread btw
oh and nice to meet you in the ss bar before the game rogues.

| Pryce scored a try today that none of our other wingers would have, and did nothing wrong.
The abuse he is still getting from the stands is disgraceful.
Anyone who watches Melbourne play will know that we dont need wingers who do anything but finish from 20yards, as the rest of the play is about opening up the space for the walk in try's. Amos/Sam give us our version's of GI and thats why players like Pryce & Goulding are scoring so many. It's inside of the wingers we need to spend the big money.

Finds his front every drive and takes 2 to 3 players with him.
His pass to Crmont against Hudds was sublime as was his pass today, although nothing came of it.
No other winger at the club would have scored the try he did today on the stroke of half time.
His defence was outstanding, but he was caught out of position once when Foster dropped it with a walk in.
If we are looking to be critical look to Roberts today (who should not be picked) rather than fire cheap shots at a player who went well today.

Dave I'm not sure if anyone has ever told you but generally you attack for 50% of the game and defend for 50% of the game.
While Pryce has been defending on the wing nothing has come down that side of the field. Pryce went off, and guess what, we leak a try.
Go figure.

That is a typical Rogues post. Was he the only reason we conceded that try?

Firstly if you rate Vainakolo as a defensive player we cannot agree.
I care not if he scores super tries, does he need to?
What he needs to do is take the chances he is offered and stop the opposition which he is doing.
He gets a quick play the ball involves 2 or 3 players in the tackle and takes his chances.
I wonder what era people think we are in when a player is scoring over a try a game and not letting them in and is still slated.

| His overall game today was better than both Roberts and Richards in my opinion. Just because he doesnt run past all 13 players twice and score from 90 yards out doesn't mean he's a bad player, he performs his role in the team well. If he's fit for next week, i'd definitely play him.

| if your talking about quick play the balls there is nothing wrong with goulding, it took pryce 15 minutes to come in for his first touch of the ball, yes you look for your quick wingers to score a great try, goulding also is also good from 10 metres and has come on leaps and bounds in his defence, it was laughable today when he got injured, if you watch it back they attck his side, tomkins tries everything in his power to stop flannery and pryce just watched, that pretty much sums him up

Goulding has still struggled in defence positionally, he also has a poorer return/game.

I am not firing cheap shots at Pryce. He can't break a tackle to save his life when running the ball out of defence and he's huge. What's the problem with him here? Calderwood probably made more meters doing that than Pryce does.
