Despite one or two decent runs when he came off the bench he didn't really get much of an opportunity to put himself in the shop window today (assuming he is on his way out).

Part of me really wanted him to have a huge impact on the game today and perhaps from a Saints point of view he did.

I know people have questioned his defence in the past and we have certanly seen how he has been targeted by opposition runners, ive not yet had chance to see the game on tape (and i don't really want too) but i am wondering if its a coincidence that Saints seemed to really get on top when Feka was on the field.

Did Feka figure at all in the second half?

I don't want to have a dig at Maguire cause I love the guy but he just can't work out how to use subs when we need them.

It was a funny one today as Fielden was tearing it up, our best prop by a distance... Feka was anonymous when he came on, so it's no surprise he didn't get much time...

On that point, I think you're right. Certainly on the evidence of todays game. Piggy should have been on the field for the last quarter, for some reason he wasn't. And I'm aware the young lad who was on in his place scored.

Spot on really. McIlorum scored but I have no doubt more pressure could have been applied with piggy on the field.

So did I. When he came on, we were attacking.. Some daft penalty from Bailey later and we were defending. Feka got lost on the wing and Saints scored.

Didn't see him again all game.

He made a big hit on Fozzard a few yards from our line but imo and maguires i would imagine he got up way to quickly. Roby capatalised by scooting and scoring although i aint putting the blame on Feka as the three players in the tackle could of stopped him,but he didnt help by jumping up and allowing a quick play the ball with the defence not set properly.

He isnt being used correctly, but when he is on the field, he isnt really doing much, a sad winding down of his Wigan career, when O'Carroll is fit again, baring injuries I dont think he will play.

I feel sorry for feka he can't do right for doing wrong!! He makes good yards when given chance but for some reason does not get any game time, weather that is something to do madge's thinking or i don't know! But if that's the case that is the the 2nd game madges has not used the 4 subs bench correctly!!! Either play him or pick someone else who can offer more!!!

Couldn't understand why Maguire didn't bring him on in the 2nd half even for 10mins. I even think that he didn't use all his 12 interchanges.

he got 11 mins came on in 1st half with 19 mins to go and went off with 8 mins to go,did not show in 2nd half they even brought tulson back on with a broken nose

I must say picking Feka on the bench and using him only once again is pretty shabby. However his defensive frailties were desperately exposed. True enough he found himself stranded out on the wing for their try but surely he could have done better in terms of making it difficult for Melly to touch down?
Having said all that I definately think there was room for another 10 minutes in the second half as we started to build pressure and possession.

How he didnt smash Meli into the stand i dont know, it was terrible defending. Whether he should of been there or not he should of stopped that try.

I like Feka a lot. I've had the opportunity to speak to him and he comes across as a great guy who loves being at Wigan but what I do find odd, and it's been mentioned on here before, is the fact that he drives a ball in and makes 10 yards, the crowd goes wild, whoops, cheers, claps. Pryce, Fielden, Coley, Prescott etc do the same to almost silence

Considering it was such a tight game, perhaps that's the reason why he didn't get a second stint?

Maguires use of subs bewilders me to be honest. He can't have expected us to have trounced Sts with the players we had out so if he doesn't want to use Feka in a tight game why select him at all? It's a waste of a bench spot. However, the last ten minutes or so when the game was as good as gone, was crying out for someone like him to come on and batter over from a few yards out. He'd have been better off having someone like Goulding on the bench rather than waste a sub spot on a player he clearly doesn't rate enough to play him.

For Meli's try all Feka had to do was stand his ground. When I watched it again last night I couldn't believe how Feka almost moves out of Melis way to let him past. A friend of mine told me about it in the SS bar after the game.

That's a bit harsh.

There's no telling which direction the ball could have bobbled.

If Feka would have stood still and the ball bobbled to the right then he would have been slated for not turning and focusing on the ball instead of the player.

There's not much Feka could have done in that situation especially against a winger. In fact he did well to cover in the first place.

Theres not much Feka could of done? How about tackle the guy instead of just letting him walk past and put the ball down? He could of at least tried something instead of getting the deckchair out

Meli didn't have the ball. tackling him would have resulted in a sinbinning and a penalty try with the kick under the sticks.

Would NEVER have been a penalty try.

I think it if Feka had just stood his ground it would have been enough as Meli only just managed to touch the ball.
