Looking for a new coach with walters of catalan going back home.

Hardly a shock. I dunno where they are all going to find replacements from and thats a sad indictment for our sport at the moment. Coaching prospects are not good.

Could tempt Craig Bellamy more than saints IMO.

Its going to be hard find big names to fill bradford/saints so no idea who would want the catalan job, maybe bobbie goulding as he has only got a handfull of games this year and none in 2011 if they fail to make the 4 nations.

I wonder if Bellamy might want to prove a point in the NRL next year having been stripped of his previous titles. Wouldn't be surprised if he came over here though like you say.

I think he will come over here and join Catalans or Saints for 2 years. Most likely Catalans IMO. A quality coach could work wonders with those players.

I personally can't see Bellamy coming to SL, as many have already pointed out he's got a point to prove at Melbourne and also unfinished business with NSW.

No doubting that were he to come over here he'd do a marvelous job, but he just doesn't fit the mold of coaches who come to the UK. There either young assistant coaches such as Madge who have no other option but to come over here to advance there careers, or in the other case a coach who has coached at the highest level in the NRL who have mostly failed and that's why there in SL.

I would rather he goes to St Helens. If you don't get a quality coach in then saints will slip and be a poor team with a few decent players like Eastmond, much like Wigan since 05. The greatest derby in RL only recovered from Wigans poor years last year. I want to go into every derby match not being able to call it. As a fan of RL more than a fan of Wigan I think it's very important that saints get a great coach.

Crowds will drop playing at Widnes next year and it could be embarrasing if the team are not playing well as well.

Well said mate as much as i am a Saints fan i myself like you is a fan of the game first.

I'm pretty confident that Saints will br alright next year and when the new stadium is built God help you all.

I've heard that rumour as well but a friend of mine who works at Saints reckons they will be in the new stadium by july/august next year.

Well if that happens then the lets see if the Saints fans and players care about a 'happy smiley coach' if he gets them some results. Stuart is FAR from captain personable

I doubt we will ever see it happen tbh with you, even if he was to be sacked for whatever reason by the Storm, there would be a line of NRL clubs waiting to snap him up.

The best clubs can hope for is younger coaches that have learned underneath the guy, which is exactly what Wigan gambled on this season and it seems to be a very good gamble so far...

on that basis, why did Michael MacGuire go to Wigan?

I wouldnt want Bellamy anyway - rather have a coach that has experience of success, winning titles and world club challenges etc...

Well... by history now as it's been wiped when Mebourne were stripped of titles, Bellamy isn't a successful coach anymore.

exactly - Melbourne have been stripped of all titles, therefore so has Bellamy.

What a rubbish signing Maguire was then, assistant coach at a team that hadn't won anything and is going to finish bottom of the league.

Never said Bellamy wasn't a good coach, just that he hadn't won anything... which he hasn't... anymore.
