He grabbed him twice before he tapped it, admittedly pryce faked the tap twice but he still grabbed him

| He got binned for tackling a player that had tapped a penalty 2 or 3 times.
Ludicrous decision and if anything the penalty should have gone the other way.

| Bit of a strange one. Obviously the ref thought Pryce hadn't tapped the ball and that Roberts was trying to waste time.
Thankfully didn't affect the result.

| Very harsh to get binned for it, could of easily been a penalty the other way.

| Leant down twice to tap it before hand (that I saw). Taking the p*ss tbh, how many times are you allowed to dummy a tap so close to the line?

| Ridiculous decsion from Thaler - This tap on pryces arm is a sin bin, but saints hold wigan down in a try scoring oppurtunity and not even a word in the ear to the captain. Ludacris.

Might have been a bit harsh to send him to the sin bin......but please do not even mention our guys holding you down as your players spent most of the match slowing it down by holding our guys down.......something they seem to have mastered without the ref seeing (always seemed to be looking the other way!)

Yeah, because that's more likely than you simply being beaten by the better side on the day.
Look bud, what goes around comes around. You lot got away with it for years. But you're now neither fast enough nor clever enough.
That said, you were still lucky not to get a sin-binning yourself during that rash of penalties late in the second half. I can't understand a ref constantly penalising for the same offence, and not showing a yellow card. Interestingly, he didn't extend that leniency to Wigan (which enabled you to score two tries).

| Stupid behaviour from Roberts, right under the nose of the ref.
Could have cost us the game.
A man of his experience must be utterly embarassed by it all.

| Players get away with high shots and get nothing. This sin binning was very harsh. About time the RFL and the refs sort out which is the 'worse sin'.

So you don't think it was a stupid move by Roberts then?
I bet MM doesn't share your generosity.

After just watching the game agian, i never want to here any Saints fan say that again. What a load of crap, Saints players held down, had hands on ball in tackles, just yet more bitterness......

When are fans of other teams going to realise what we are doing. Melbourne did it for years, Huddersfield started last year, yet it still doesn't seem to sink in.
Wigan have trained long and hard on holding up the tackle. Where possible they will impact the attacker and half lower him, holding him for 2-3 seconds before dropping him to the floor, when the tackle is deemed complete. If the ref shouts 'Dominant!' they then have a few more seconds to get off the man, who then has to get up and play the ball. Wigan's intensive defence this season means that more often than not they are dominant.
Other teams stick to the old technique of taking the attacker to ground straight away and lying on, and that is why they get penalised more often than Wigan - even though today he seemed to penalise whenever he simply felt like it.
I didn't like it last season at Hudds, and have never liked it at Melbourne, but when it's your team dominating the attack and being massive in defence, it feels a lot different!

Correct.
I do find myself thinking " Bugger, hope we don't get penalised for that", more often.
Still, you have to hand it to MM, it's working so far.

Completely agree with that, spot on. Just ashame other teams cant see that through their bitterness, Potter said today it was 'against the spirit of the game'.... Idiot

I aint bitter, (gutted we lost yes but not bitter).......I just think it slows the game down by holding up the play of the ball and does not add to the game in any way (even from our side).
The statement about it is ok when the players are still stood up I agree with ("dominant"icon_wink.gif(still in motion so carry on) but the fact is they were on the floor most of the time being held down!
The ref again was giving very poor decisions on both counts
I expected much more from both teams to be honest.
