| For me this could be the best thing that happens this season. We started the game like we have played all year. On fire. But Bradford all credit to them gave it to us second half. We have a tough month coming up Hull, Cas, Leeds, Saints. Lets get realisic, we are a f**king good team but not the finished article. Lets get back to the grind, stop believing the hype and work hard at getting back to the top. Wigan are rising and will get back to the top, but this league is tough with some very good teams. The next four weeks will give us a good yardstick as to where we are. There have been some really silly posters, talking about going unbeaten all year etc etc..... This league is wide open, for me any one of 4 teams can win super league.... cmon Wigan, lets gets stuck in and bounce back next week

| Leeds, Saints, Wigan, Bradford\Wire. obviously.
Pretty much the same top 4 teams it's always been if Bradford can keep up the form they showed in teh second half.

realisticly looking at quality of entire squads etc over the course of a season, Leeds, Saints, Wire, Wigan. I think Hull, Wakefield, Bradford will drop points and what ive seen of Hull KR i dont rate. the only team i see threatening those 4 is Huddersfield

| How weird one half makes. Not trolling, as I was rooting for you tonight, because I think Wakey will be round and about Bradford at the end of the season more than you lot.
At half-time, I was expecting to see you in the Grand Final. Completely dominant and skilful. Forty minutes later I'm thinking that you've only played two good teams, one of which you blew, and the other you saved due to a Solomona knock on.
Going to be an interesting season.

| First real test for McGuire.
If we can bounce back next week we're still 5 from 6.
A real bad one to lose though. Our kicking game really went to pot in the second half - perhaps the wind had more of an influence than was initially apparent.

If we'd played well in the 1st half at Warrington or the 2nd half tonight against Bradford you might have a point. I'm not particularly worried though when we concede points when playing poorly, all teams do.

| Agreed that everyone has been getting way too carried away in recent weeks. There's a couple of things I noticed tonight that still aren't right - Maguire's substitution policy is so different to Nobles that it stands out a mile. He seems to be giving some players huge tranche's of game time without a break and others next to no time - hence why Deacon only took the field so late on. With us losing Carmont so early on tonight thereby taking Bailey out of the forwards they needed to be more clever with the rotations and it was no surprise they looked dead on their feet. Fielden in particular missed a couple of crucial one on ones, most notably Hall, which is not like him and I can only think was down to fatigue.

| top post. a lot of people (your fans and opposition fans) have been believing this hype about the wigan team being 'fitter than ever' to me i hear that from every new coach at every club..
i still think wigan will no doubt be in the top five, and as i have said on another site that wigan weren't a million miles away last year either

Fair point. I still hope that you or Warrington get to Old Trafford, just for a change! You'll just get beaten by Wakey when you get there, that's all.

| Most sensible fans on here have been cautious despite the previous four games. It's going to be interesting to see Maguire's reaction to this.

Im very optimistic the response will be positive, as Noble said after the game, he will show the players where we went wrong and address it.
It was always going to be a problem that in 1.5 games we scored 78 points and didnt concede. I think over confidence would be a factor in the second half.

If it was then I think the players can expect a rocket. I don't think the performance will have been professional enough for Maguire's liking in the 2nd half with Roberts mistake and Riddell losing the plot v Hall as examples.
I am sure his view will be a 20-0 half time lead means the players must win the game and I don't mean that in a complacent sense but that from that position they must not lose it.

In a way I agree, I certainly think it'll be the last time this year that we switch off regardless of the score.
No doubt McGuire and Wane will have learn't a whole lot from tonight's performance.

The of us coming back in the car said exactly the same.
We look a good side and one terrible half of rugby won't change that. We've had a bad attitude and a slack mentality embedded in this club for years and it's been proved tonight that it's going to take Maguire and Wane more then 4 months to totally change that round. This can hopefully work as a wake up call to the players that they have to fight and scrap for everything in this game because they are nowhere near good enough to be playing at 20%.
I'd imagined they'll have taken an absolute bol*ocking tonight and rightfully so. As long as they take it on the chin and make sure they don't get complacent like that again we'll have taken plenty from that defeat.

I don't think a defeat is ever 'good' for you, but I get your drift.
Realistically, this is the kind of result that fans of all sides should be getting themselves prepared for over the season.....Without wishing to come over all Eddie-like, this season promises to be very close, with most sides being closely matched.
As a Wire fan, I obviously wanted to see you come unstuck at some point, but I think its apparent that even from tonight's display, you Wiganers will certainly pose a threat to many teams over this season.
The only thing that would worry me about your performance tonight, was the way your forwards seemed to finish their shift a little early, obviously believing, at 20 points up, that you had done enough.... I still have my doubts about the likes of Fielden & Coley, and tonight didn't change that opinion.

| McGuire's pretty much echoing what were all thinking, we built are selves a good lead yet through complacency let it slip.

| I feel sick.
We played so well in the first half but Orford showed what a class player he is tonight and exposed us.
On the positive i thought Eamon O'Carrol was immense tonight, he showed up big time and made some strong drives with the ball.
Credit to Bradford but we need to get a lot smarter.

Orford pulled our pants down but in reality we shouldn't have let him.
We worked our knackers off in the first half and closed down him and his runners space but in the 2nd half looked like a normal early season Wigan side and let Bradford take the game to us. We stood off in defence and didn't cover runners and in attack we looked lethargic and didn't support the man with the ball.
I expect that very poor 2nd half preformence to be put behind us next week win or lose. I can stand for losing aslong as the effort is there and unfortunatly it wasn't in that 2nd half tonight.

No it wouldn't. That's just a cliché. You can learn form your mistakes but it's better not to make needless ones on this scale.
My concern is with a big game coming up V Hull it will have boosted their confidence no end and done ours no good at all. After all chucking away a 20-0 half time lead and conceding 22 unanswered points is a pretty appalling performance.

| This is a real test for MM & SW.
How they get the team prepared for and how they play v Hull will show us the calibre of our new coaching staff.
If ever the team and the coaching staff need to realise it's an 80 minute game then it's now.
I'm sure they will have a lot to say and do this coming week.

They'll have us right for next week i'm sure.
It still may not actually be enough because Hull look a good side but we won't get complacent like tonight at any point and thats all you can ask for really.
