Tomkins was very impressive. He looked fearless, and played with the same confidence as he does for Wigan. Think he should have cemented No.6, but we need a specialised 7.

He was again superb once we got some ball. A great player.

i'll eat my words regarding Tomkins kicking, i thought it was rather good today

NO, sinfield and maguire thought it was all about them, he wnet at least 15 minutes without a single touch in which time Australia had scored 3 times

He wouldn't look out of place in the green and gold.

I think the Leeds players only want to pass to fellow Leeds players, maguire is garbage and thank god smith is on his way to union. Crabtree played well and dare i say it westwood when he came on. For me Burgess/Ellis and Tomkins were the star trio for england

Like Myler last week, Tomkins had a good 2nd half. Speed at the PTB's and some decent forward play laid a decent platform. Pity the game was over by that time and I think the Aussies took their foot off the gas a little. That said, England came away with some pride from today's performance.

am not his biggest fan,but i thought he had a decent input into the game.Just a shame he still leaves his knees in when he has made a tackle.Billy Slater was on the recieving end a couple of times in the second half.Apart from that well done to lad.

what i liked is that the he irrated the aussies. they ragged him a couple of times off the ball yet he kept going. thats what we need. someone that gets under their skin. But sam was impressive and the aussies noticed him. For me i would play sam at 6 and eastmond at 7. Crabtree and ellis played really well. If eastmond played let him kick and play burgess at loose and get rid of sinfield.

tomkins had a great game, as did eastmond. sinfield also played well when he was at hooker. would have tomkins and eastmond in the halves next week, with sinfield switching between hooker and loose.

Absolute class act is Tomkins and was our best player today IMO........... have to say well done to the Wigan club for bringing this lad through well this season.

Sinfield at hooker demonstrated how poor roby's distribution was. It was no coincidence England got going with some clean ball at acting half.

I thought Tomkins did well, his biggest plus being that he wasn't afraid to stand toe to toe with the opposition.

Of course there has to be a suspicion that his performance was based quite significantly on the Aussies dropping off in the second half, but that can also be said about the whole England side, which improved dramatically in the second half.

Still not too optimistic for next week though....It just seems we have a mental problem of not being able to perform for 80 minutes...Either that, or we just aren't good enough??...
