Considering many deemed Richards had a poor first season, although I felt that was harsh myself, he has worked his way up to a try scoring strike rate that matches that of Brett Dallas during his Wigan career.
He also out strikes the record of Kris Radlinski, which is a great feat when you compare the players that Dallas and Rads played with, to those Paaat is playing with.
So would you take Dallas in his Wigan prime or Paaat now if you had the choice?
Also is Carmont signed for next year? Because he is up there as well.

| Richards without a doubt.
Topping the points chart for a 3rd season in a row is justification enough. Although i would have loved them both in the same side.

IMO.. he was faster, more agile, a better finisher, could make a break from nothing and he has a similar rate to Richards even with playing outside Vaeliki for half of his time at Wigan.

| Dallas every time assuming we remove the kicking from the equation. Dallas had a much better work ethic and was an electric finisher, but never got any ball, i think if Dallas had the same quality of service as Richards, his strike rate would be significantly higher.

| Dallas for sheer speed...at his prime you knew when he made a break he would not be caught...just a more exciting winger to watch..but I do rate pat very highly.

CC Semi in 2004 springs to mind. He pretty much won us that match with individual brilliance. 2 of his tries he was fast to react and his 3rd was sheer speed and awareness.

| Dallas for me. Just because he is a proper winger.
However I still rate Pat very highly and we would of been lost without him for the last3 years.

| Tough one that. If it was just down to being a winger Id take Dallas. As all round players you would have to go with Pat due to the points he gets us

| Can't compare the two
Dallas right winger, Richards left wing or full back
Specialist finisher, or solid utility player
How about comparing Phelps / Panapa or even Ged Byrne

| Dallas was also a superb defender, same cant be said for Pat, while he has improved and is now pretty good he still has his losses of concentration, Dallas seemed 100% week in week out.

| Anyone know what Dallas is up to these days? Could always get him in as an outside backs coach.

| Well to pose the question differently...who would you choose if they were both in the same squad where Farrell was the kicker. It's a no brainer for me. Dallas all the way.

They only played 6 games on opposite wings that season.
I just think if you could fuse the two together you have a perfect winger. Strength, speed and aerial ability would all be covered.
Sam has got all the plaudits for the player of the year award, and rightly so, but Pat has been excellent for scoring tries this season. 23 tries is our best return since Dallas himself scored 24 in 2004. I just think considering pace is not Pat's biggest attribute, thats an excellent return.
Millward may have had a terrible reign here at Wigan but we have to thank him for signing Paaat. He had only kicked 3 goals in his career then, so it wasn't goal kicking he saw and the signing came quite a few months before he would end 2005 with an NRL Grand Final ring. But given his age it's proven to be the best bit of buisness this club has done for quite a few years.

I know what you mean but I just think Dallas (for a good chunk of his Wigan career) had Radlinski, Farrell, Lam, Robinson, Renouf, Newton, Connolly type players to feed off. Pat doesn't have anywhere near that kind of standard.
