Just watching Union on Tele... why is it that the opposition fans are silent when the player is kicking for goal (the commentator... made a point that the silence when the kick was taken, was impecably observed??? bizarre if you ask me... just wondering why they do this??

Rugby is a game of attack and defence.. and We think the referee has too much influence in our game... In a game were any penalty within the attacking half is given... a shot at goal results... surely this gives the referee too much influence... and makes for the bore-athon that it is..

I believe it is. Both Stephen & Richie were at Widnes at points in their careers.

I went round a mates house after we had been out on the bikes for a cruise and he is right into union so we had to sit through half the N'hampton match, he was trying to tell me that union was better etc etc so i quoted Wendell Sailor from the article the other day, he wasn't happy, anyway i was really surprised when the player took the kick and the crowd was quiet, i questioned him about for a while, then when it stopped raining in got back on me FZR and did one back home for some real rugby.

I once took a friend who was a Sale fan to the JJB to watch Wigan he was shocked at the noise when con/pen was being taken, he said it wouldn`t happen in union.

My reply was well f**K off back to union if you don`t like it

RUGBY I am sick of the press/media refering rugby union as RUGBY there are two codes of RUGBY. Whats peoples views.

Was interesting to note the pattern on Sky Sports News during the fake blood story.
Anytime the guest or presenter was talking negative it was rugby. However when they were talking about moving forward, great crowds, a clean, family friendly game it was rugby union.
