Good to see these pictures of Saints' new ground making progress. I was disappointed to see all their losses from recent seasons and I expect them to thrive at their new ground. It will be good for rugby league.

Looks fantastic and I'll readily admit I'm very jealous!

| As I said on the saints board....
"It looks a little boring at the moment but that main stand should look pretty good covered in red.
It is very much a smaller version of Brightons new ground.
I am not just excited about this stadium as a Wigan fan for the derbies but also just as a fan of RL. When saints started building it I thought I would drive past in disgust but I just don't, I just get a buzz of excitement thinking about attending as a fan.
Saints are one of the top 3 clubs in the country and one of the biggest names in the game, to see them move into a new stadium is fantastic for the game in this country. Not only will I enjoy attending in the away end as a Wigan fan, I will no doubt attend a semi-final of the cup there at some point, I'm sure many internationals will be played there, maybe even a WCC. I think they should move the Championship finals to this new venue and give it the games it deserves.
The stadium is already building a history that our current ground will just never have despite the fantastic facility it is."
Appart from that main stand though it really does look dreadful if they are leaving all that metal on show. I suppose you can't see it because tesco is in the way though. Still doesn't stop me from being jealous. However, we pay hardly anything to play in a bigger stadium with more facilities than their new stadium has. It is the best RL ground but still quite a way behind the KC and DW in terms of facilities.

The whole of the end behinid the goals will be ours and that is all standing. We will also get a seating allocation on the corner of the main stand. I think a Saints fan suggested the allocation would be 4.5k.
The away end is very similar to Warrington and the LSV home end.

No, both ends (behind the posts) are standing, only the two side stands are all seated.

Do you think thats going to be enough?
I think fixtures against the smaller sides attendances wont be that big due to the lack of away support. However against teams like ourselves and Warrington you could of got attendances of over 20,000 IMO.

Agreed.
And looking at the pics It appears as though there's no ability to increase it's capacity.
Still a good looking stadium though.

I think 18k is about bang on tbh. For regular league games anything over 20k is too much and would probably leave the stadium half empty (like ours has been with 12/13k against the teams with the poorest away support).
Should be some excellent atmospheres next year with Wigan and Saints both in stadia that the fixture deserves, plus Wire who will have the extra capacity from filling in 2 of the corners. And with the new Salford ground and Widnes in the SL its nice to see all the modern stadia on the right side of the pennines with all the Yorkshire teams (apart from Hull FC) lagging well behind!

It's shocking that Hull and Huddersfield are the only sides in Yorkshire to have covered away ends. Yet it still doesn't seem to deter fans from teams such as Warrington and Wigan from travelling well. Whereas Yorkshire clubs bring over a distinct lack of away support to some of the best RL grounds in the country.

| It looks decent not quite sure why they chose 18,000 as no offence but the only its going to reach capacity is when Wigan & Wire show up and perhaps for the odd international and maybe a Cup Semi if chosen I would have thought 15,000 would be better for Saints, Its also unusual but quite nice of Saints in those pictures to advertise the pitch where (Legends) Sam Tomkins, Lockers, Richards & Carmont will be playing.

| Our biggest rivals but I'm pleased for them in a way!
We (RL) can't afford to have one of our biggest clubs running financial losses as has been mentioned this week. This new place will be open 7 days a week and bringing in revenue every day.
Main event of course will be match day but the other 6 days are so important in making a stadium pay its way. It's their own standium and they will have to bear all the costs for its upkeep, which won't be small.
Don't know if they will be letting a ground share with anyone!
We need all our clubs to at least break even financially and make a profit where possible.
There is no reason Saints shouldn't be making a profit after the first season in there.
As has been mentioned, it is excellent that we have so many of our local clubs with such excellent facilities. This can only help generate support both home and away.

| Looking very good and ideally suited for rugby league, i think the 18,000 capacity is a good figure and Saints will be looking to attract more and more supporters over the next few years.
I hope one day that Wigan can do the same.
