| I've not dug out last year's receipt yet, but this looks like something north of a 10% hike for us Westys. Gonna have to sell some jewellery.
Has an explanation/excuse for this increase been forthcoming from anywhere ?

| Inflation may be low but wages haven't kept pace with the cost of living since the banking crisis.
For example-
in 2009, qualified nurses earned £28,028 a year (12 months to March 2009).For their wages to have the same clout as they did in 2008 - they'd need to be earning £33,065 now. In 2014, nurses earned £30,782 a year (12 months to March 2014). So they are a stonking £2283 less well off than they were in 2008.
In a town like Wigan £250 or thereabouts for a season ticket is still a big ask for most people.

| I'm sorry, but who on earth has taken that photo of Billy Boston for the season ticket T&Cs banner on the club's site?! He looks like something just crawled off the set of the Walking Dead.
I will be renewing, but there's a trend here I'm not that impressed with:
[list[*Way above inflation increases. Why?[/*:m
[*Have walk-up prices gone through the roof too?[/*:m
[*With the car park I'm now over £22 per game, add fuel & it's pushing £30[/*:m
[*"The Club reserves the right to move home games away from the DW Stadium".[/*:m
[*Super 8s exempt from "Ticket Exchange". Probably a repeat of this year, but still don't like it.[/*:m[/list:u
I suppose this all comes from the marquee-signing costs, which was always going to come straight down to us. But an increase like this needs a proper explanation rather than the like it or lump it approach: however glossy it looks on the site.
(and please, get a better picture of Billy)

Where does it say the Super 8s are exempt from the ticket exchange? They weren't this year, our group exchanged 2 for the Cas S8 game and 2 for the Hull S8 game because none of us went to the London match.
FWIW, I agree with everything else. The club aren't doing enough to get the 2,500 or so fans who no longer regularly attend back IMO and in turn a growing number of people are getting more and more disillusioned and finding reasons not to attend. A price drop, or at least freeze, wouldn't have hurt this year.

in the T&Cs Quote The exchange must be made in advance of missing a game and is eligible for a ticket in the same seating area of the DW Stadium at another game during the regular Super League season'" I'm taking that to mean the Super 8s are excluded. Especially as they make a deliberate distinction between the 11 "regular" home games and the 3 or 4 afterwards.
If this [iis[/i the case, and it's new for next year, then they must have recognised that due to the very unpredictable scheduling of the last set of matches, loads of people can't make it and would ordinarily want to switch. And they've taken steps to prevent it, which is more than a bit cynical IMO.

| If Wigan want us to pay more then i personally want to see more 'superstars'. I've always said that i'd be more than willing to pay £30 or possibly £40 for a ticket if i the on field product was better.
Sadly todays current product/game doesn't even come close to providing anything close to warrenting an increase in price. I only need to look back 15/20 years ago to think that back then Wigan vs Saints was Radders, Faz, Newton, Lam, Dallas vs Long, KFC, Scully, Lyon, Albert.
No offence to either of them but i don't want to pay more to watch Matty Smith vs Danny Brough/Walsh/Myler than what i did to see Lam vs Long/Paul/Briers.

| I can understand people don't like to see these above-inflation prices, but SL is still a hell of a lot cheaper than football. Based on the 'superstar' criterion, I agree that the Premiership isn't a fair comparison, but I just checked the prices for my home-town club, who are in League 1, so third tier of football.
Best seats are £480. 'Early bird' price £425. Admittedly that is for more matches, though. Works out to £20.87 per game. And even now, SL offers a much higher standard; you don't see international players in League 1.

I agree with you and personally think SL is great value for money. But the big difference is there's generally enough football supporters who will buy tickets at what seem like ridiculous prices. Look at the silly prices RUWC tickets have been going for, but nearly every stadium has been full.
We've just had out 4th consecutive season of falling average attendances at the DW, and 2015 was the first time in 10 years we've dropped below 14k. To me enough hasn't been done to turn this round. Sam coming back might put a few on the average gate but we then don't have the home Good Friday game next year which is usually better supported than the derby game later in the season. A lot of fans were annoyed by the London game and I genuinely think that could have a knock on effect on ST sales, plus we've had another nearly-but-not-quite-good-enough trophyless season. If I was IL I'd be more concerned about getting the numbers up and ticket prices should be the first place to look IMO.

| Yeah I can understand that. I'm not typical cos I live a distance away so a season ticket is out of the question, but the price of the ticket is small change for me compared to petrol, hotel bills, etc.

| I Stopped my season ticket after the 2011 season because of 3 main reasons
1 I was unhappy with the signings
2 It was becoming more expensive
3 They kept changing k.o. times and moving games to different days because of WAFC

Sky is a bigger problem for changes to match dates than WAFC ever were or will be .
They pay the wage though .
Season ticket are not value for money for us these days (Thursday's a logistic nightmare) but it needs to be done and will be next season .

| I agree the Thursday night games is the biggest issue the club faces. It's an awful night for the fan that attends games but it's actually a very good night (for me anyway) to watch a game when Wigan aren't playing. Due to that reason I doubt it'll change anytime soon.
As good as this season has been, the crowds haven't been anything to shout about for anybody.

| What I don't like about the tv system is that all clubs get the same t.v money. IMO there should be a "basic" amount that all clubs get and then a top up for the clubs that appear on t.v. At least that way they would be financially compensated for the the loss of spectators (particularly the Thursday games) due to t.v. coverage.
Wasn't that how it was done during the "Grandstand" days on the BBC?
All clubs should have a minimum number of Thursday games.

| First time in 19yrs I won't be renewing. I'm going to pick and choose my games, I know all the diehards will lambast my decision however I need to get my point across to the club and this IMO is the only way.

| Does anyone know whether they've changed the car park numbers? Only 1 & 4 appear to be bookable. What I thought of as 3 behind the east stand can't be bought for next year. Or at least not yet. A call to the ticket office required methinks.

Last year passes for car park 3 only went on general sale after the season ticket renewal deadline as they wanted to check how many passes could be offered for sale.
