I've picked Australia.

It's always held here and I'd love to have been able to go over there in February.

If it's had to be played in the UK than I couldn't think of any where better than a sold out DW.

Why not Galpharm?

1. Cause it's in Yorkshire.
2. Cause it's capacity is only 24,500

That's what I went for. All 4 sides of the ground in Cherry + White would be brilliant.

I dont see how any wigan fan would possibly vote for anything but a 25,000 sell out at the DW.

I'd like to see a massive crowd at the City of Manchester stadium. OT's too big I think. If we can't get COMS then keep it in Wigan.

Can see why a few Wiganers would vote for Aussie, but as for back in England theres only one place to hold the match...Central Park, I mean the DW.

Reebok Stadium = Its in Bolton, not much bigger than the DW and would give our lodging neighbours plenty of ammo
Anfield = Last time we played there we got 20K on , so whats the point in that. Plus its in scouseland.
Old Trafford = Far far too big and would look stupid
Wembley = See Old Trafford reason. Yep thats right, send 10k Wigan fans down the M1 on a seriously expensive trip
Australia = My 2nd choice as it would be great to beat t'aussies in their own backyard AGAIN!!

It says on the VT thread that the COMS is unavailable for RL.

It would be a brave decision and the the club's staff will have to work on overdrive, but a 40k crowd at City of Manchester would be a massive boost not just to Wigan but to the overall game.

If it isn't available - City may not need the money - then there are no other suitable stadiums (OT too big, Liverpool / Everton are in areas that don't have an interest in RL) and we must ensure a sell out at DW.

Has to be the DW. Seeing the Hub Cap being lifted in the DW was good but thats a minor thing... Imagine 25,000 Wiganers (the ground still full) when SoL goes up to lift the WCC. *Spine Tingle*

Plus even more flags in the South Stand just to add to the occasion.

You're right though, it'd certainly be a tremendous acchievement to fill that ground.

Brisbane away was our finest hour. Not saying we would win down under, but if we win at home, there's always the old excuses of travel, jetlag, lack of preparation etc, etc. As Edwards said on Sky when we won over there it put all that to bed.

RFL/Aussies should get their fingers out and ensure that the fixture is played at the home ground of the UK champs one year and the Aussie champs the next.

Winning the WCC at a packed DW in front of 25,000 Wiganers would top the Grand final IMO.

If its possible it has the be at the DW. We shouldnt be taking it anywhere too far away if we cant play it there as it will probably be not long before or after the magic weekend and people arent made of money.

Personally, i'm not as bothered about the venue as the date, Sundays from November-March are no-go for me.

Which is why I wouldn't want it in Australia. Having not been in the WCC for 17 years, I'm sure many people would be annoyed that they couldn't go to this one due to financial constraints.
