Read the parts that were in the Wigan Observer. The most interesting points were-

He felt the club had lost that professional culture over the years yet he didn't blame that on any one person. He said an example of this was during his last season when if a senior player tried to tell of one of the younger players for doing something wrong they'd just have a good laugh about it with the other young lads. He blamed that on them spending so much time socialising away from the field that when they game into training they just treated it as some sort of youth club!

The other was about Millward and how he didn't get on with him. He said he was excited when he took over but it soon turned sour. The low point came the day after the 75-0 game when the team went out for a pre-arranged meal. It was a club do so all the players eat and then when they had finished Millward told them they'd have to pay themselves because of the defeat the day before.......the players weren't happy but Rads couldn't be bothered arguing so just payed up(whilst others were going mad). The day after Millward dragged him in his office and boll*cked him for not calming the situation down at the meal as it was his job to do that as the senior player!

He also said Millward would take all the praise in the press for a win but it would always be the players fault for a defeat and that he always blames Millward for putting the Wigan public through the shame of such an embarrasing defeat against Saints.

Ive really been looking forward to this book since he announced it in the south stand bar before a game earlier in the year [It was the time when they had Mathers do a little speech then Rads after him which made me chuckle. Should be a good read, especially since he insisted he wrote it himself.

Here's one I coloured in earlier:

The most annoying thing about that was that Rads didn't play in the 75 - 0 game as he was injured. Millward chose to play Sean Gleeson there at fullback, a position he had never played before.

It's a sad state of affairs that some of our current players don't have the desire, passion or discipline of our players of yesteryear. You can bet if Farrell or Edwards had some role within the club attitudes would have to change or players would be shown the door...
